Trying to look at this objectively....IF there was no original loan being repaid then possibly tax evasion if he was required to pay taxes and didn't. Maybe a failure to disclose on some form when he did announce he was running for President. We're still a long way off from being able to prove a crime though.

In terms of whether there was actually an initial loan to be repaid, it sounds like the committee obtained banking records and has released some but not others? Are the records considered confidential, and how does/can the committee decide what to release and what not to release? I skimmed a CNN article reporting that CNN was able to review some of the banking records but not all of them. Is that accurate? Even for members of the public who might otherwise be capable of evaluating these sorts of banking records and accounting issues, seems like that would be difficult unless and until the relevant documents are made public.

 

Did you know that Trump had tried unsuccessful to get trademarks in China since 2005, with ZERO granted ... then was granted 38 trademarks in March of 2017? While he was president?

As has already been mentioned the explanation is rather simple. It looks like James Biden is just as sleazy as his nephew (and Joe's son) Hunter, he most likely duped the Chinese into believing that he could influence Joe (noting that Joe was no longer in office at the time and that the entire federal government was controlled by Republicans) and ended up receiving payments from them, $40,000 of which he used to pay back a personal loan from Joe Biden.

 

i believe that trump was in office when he was getting fat checks from foreign gubmnts to reserve rooms and conference rooms that were never used and jared was negotiating his sovereign wealth fund deal. old joe was out of politics when these pennies were repaid. can you maybe see a difference? try squinting and see if that helps...

Imagine if Planned Parenthood placed orders for office supplies through Amazon. Some right wing numbskull figures this out and blasts out all over social media that every Amazon employee murders babies because their paycheck is in some way funded by PP.

 

Maybe he did have some already, I guess it's not clear ... this article says he had one trademark granted in Febuary of 2017, just weeks after he took office, and 37 more in March of 2017, after 10 years of court battles trying to get these Chinese trademarks.

And that happened while he was president.
