As I said in post #73 and this is probably one of the very few times that we're in agreement although for completely different reasons, what were they thinking when the chose that person? If the magazine wanted to pick an Australian transperson for their top 100 they would done far better by choosing the person whose pic I posted (Australian actress who starred in a British tv series and by the way it wasn't public knowledge that she was trans until she came out in a British women's magazine. To save you the time of looking at the previous post, I'm posting the same pic again below:
I wasn't talking about their legal freedoms or accusing you of wanting to lock them up on house arrest. I was referring to your personal disapproval of how they identify and how they live. You said you don't care what they do in the privacy of their homes. That distinction suggests to me that you do care what they do outside of their homes (in public). My first thought is why do you care? In any event, your comment reminded me of people saying gay people don't bother them as long as they keep it to themselves. I understand the objections as it relates to sports, where there are competing interests at stake and biological males have advantages. But it seems you're just generally opposed to recognizing transgender people and disapprove of how they live for whatever reason. You insist on misgendering them and have used words like "gross" and "disgusting" and even posted a gif of someone vomiting. You have every right to your opinions and feelings, of course.
you jumped to the wrong conclusion very quickly. I care what everyone does outside of their homes when it is before the public. I don’t walk around in public groping my wife, I save that for breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks, TV time, and any day that ends in Y. Always in private. do I dislike trans people? Probably at the same level I dislike FSU fans and Georgia fans. I don’t give it any thought until game day. I disapprove of their choices, and I don’t like the way they dress. And I’m not going to apologize for it. do I hate these three groups? Hell no. Would I help them change a tire, hell yes. Would I treat them any differently than anyone else at first meeting, hell no, will I tell them to kiss my ass if they get in my face, hell, yes. there are many groups of people that I do not like. As I’m sure there are many groups of people that you don’t like. For example, you probably don’t like conservatives. That’s OK with me, that’s you’re right. You probably don’t like Nazis, and I will join you in the distain for that group.
first, I didn’t miss gender anyone. Second, I use the words gross and disgusting in context of the original post, which had to do with beautiful women. The pictures posted were not of beautiful women. Not even close. The people in the picture were neither women, nor beautiful. If you’re going to use the word beautiful to describe women, it’s perfectly acceptable to use the antithesis of beautiful, which could be gross or disgusting. It could be ugly. It could be any word that shows dissatisfaction with their appearance. Because when you call a woman beautiful, you are referring to her appearance. I don’t make the rules, I just follow them.
