If there were a real possibility, hypothetically speaking, Tim could easily be a QB coach.

You said you thought he'd be an excellent OC as if he could show up and do the job immediately. You never said it would take time, as if Billy should hire him now and let him take over the offense. I reread every post in this thread and not one said anything disparaging about Tim. Quit making stuff up.

The last thing finebum wants is for the Gators to get good again. Even when Urban was doing his magic, it galled Pauwl to say anything good about us. He wants us mired in a perpetual coaching change so we never get footing again.

Finebaum low key bashing UF while speaking to a guy from DawgNation.... what's not to like?

The guy from DawgNation was more a neutral party than Finebaum was.

The energy with which you approached me with is disproportional to the level of our discourse.

Why should I have to state that it would take hard work? Isn’t that obvious? You are the one who added the word “automatically” in there. As far as making stuff up, no I did not. There are several responses on the first page that imply that either Tebow is not up to the task or that Finebaum’s suggestion of him as an OC is unserious.

Saying he's not up to the task isn't disparaging. At this point in his career, he isn't up to the task. He's never coached, and that isn't disparaging to say so. You implied that he'd be an excellent coordinator as if he could just show up and be one.

One of the knocks on Tim when he played was that he couldn't read defenses. I don't know whether or not this is true, but if he couldn't, it would make it tough for him to coach a kid to. As far as him motivating someone to be the best he could be, there's no one better. He'd also bring similar interest to UF as Deion has done at Colorado, but I think people would be looking for reasons to be negative. A game like Colorado had against a 3 TD underdog Colorado State wouldn't get the same love for Tim. Might get the same amount of airplay, but the pundits wouldn't be drooling like they did, ad nauseum the next morning on ESPN.

Go back and watch his games... he was better than the so called experts thought he was. At-least in college he was okay at reading defenses. He could explain defenses on a chalk board too. All those talking heads said that about him coming out of college.

He's just cracking wise like he always does. He thinks he's the smartest "comedian" in the room.

Who cares! What a ride it’d be! He’s forgot more football than all combined in this thread. He’d be an instant success, sans the “coaching” experience. This is a game 8 year olds play! This ain’t rocket science. It’s about quality of players(ding ding); which he’d get, technique; which he’s heard since he was 6, and passion; which I dare say who has more. UF couldn’t get a better hire. He’d have a long leash, unlike in the NFL, of which he was ostracized for becoming too big for the league. Go gators! Hire Timmy!

I was at his games and I have no problem with what he was doing on the field.

All he has to be able to do is explain it to players... I doubt Lou Holtz ever became an expert on the football field... nor did Saban become an all-star at any position in big-time football.. But they sure can explain it.

You know what I'm saying here? One doesn't necessarily have to have mastered the game on the field, to be a good/great coach.
