Two things I would like the writer to add to his write-ups... The first thing is to put the players # next to his name to easier recognition and to learn who the player is by number recognition. And the other is to put how many years of eligibility they have left... or class that they're in. Other than that I like the information/write-ups by Nick.
So.. this is the reality of the portal. Sometimes you hit; sometimes you don't. It's like recruiting high school kids. How many five stars have flamed out, while underrated three stars lit it up? It is a very inexact science. I would suggest, without any proof, that portal players are LESS likely to tear it up on a statistical basis once they transfer. Some of them transfer for personal, or other reasons, but most transfer because they can't get on the field. What does that tell you? Then there is the problem of their limited eligibility. If you happen to hit a home run, that player is gone in one year. Not exactly the way you want to build a program. I am not opposed to hitting the portal, but still believe that recruiting the hell out of Florida High Schools is our ticket to greatness.
