I think it was likely an accident. But she probably hit the car because she was too focused on him, rather than on her driving. There’s a separate video showing her honking her horn at him, sticking her hand out the window, and flipping him off while backing out of her parking space. Whoever wrote the article linked in the OP was clearly making stuff up.

yep. The local police interjecting their their report might not have been expected.

below could be relevant to a potential motive to fan the flames…..

Ramaswamy later sent out a fundraising email with details of the crash, asking supporters to “stand for free speech” and help out his campaign.”

Ramaswamy says angry protesters rammed his car in Iowa; police say no evidence crash was intentional

Can you link the video? It was the police that said she wasn't a protestor, didn't know it was his car, etc ... I'll edit the OP if the video shows otherwise.

Here is the video. The police simply relayed that she said she wasn’t in the area to protest. I’m sure that’s what she told them and it very well could be the truth. She may have not gone there with that intention.

I am not going to piss away a bunch of time on this because it is one of the typical BS too hot threads but I did research enough to see the young lady stick her finger out the window while backing out.........this was the real problem with what went on there. That young lady could have killed a kid doing that....Of course it wouldn't have been important because you guys are only interested in kids killed in gun accidents.

I stick a middle finger out the car window a lot (less recently because of the gun nutters) and have never killed anyone.

Killed a kid, how? By flipping a bird?

and another subject change by you, but yes “you guys” are extremely concerned with guns being a leading cause of death for children. A bigger question is why isn’t maga? Is is “woke” to be concerned?

I never killed anybody either and I too have stuck my middle finger out the car window. That doesn't mean that the odds of me hitting a child running across the parking lot does not go up tremendously if I were backing up with my middle finger out the window and yelling foul language at someone.

PS: and before somebody brings it up I have hit a child with a car before maybe that is why seeing a video of a woman backing up while her attention is not on her driving struck a nerve.

Good lord. I managed never to hit anyone. Of course I’m an excellent driver.

so that’s the big gotcha? Her backing into a parked car fender? And the only video I’ve seen below (if it was her) is her flipping a bird for a few seconds. Cops said it was minor damage and gave her a summons for unsafe backing.

I brought it up because you guys are always bringing up posts I have made in the past to use against me. I've mentioned a couple of times that when I first got my drivers license in the late 60s I put a 6 year old in a wheel chair for life. It was not my fault and if anybody was at fault it would have been the kids parents for letting him play in the street or the garbage truck driver who's truck he hitched a ride on. I was going the opposite direction when the kid jumped off the back of the truck right in the path of my car. Nothing I could have possibly done to avoid it.

I am sorry that happened but got to ask have you mailed anyone else? Once is an accident. Twice is a trend..

That’s pretty common for police departments these days

here’s a story about that brand new trend. Notice that it’s 10 years old

A very minor fender bender or two. Many people who ride with me get aggravated because I am an over cautious driver. I do think it goes back to knowing just how quickly things can happen. For years when I got behind the wheel of a car I could visualize that kids head hitting the hood of my car.

So?? I doubt they would have a full blown press conference over a fender bender with minor damage. But they probably didn’t think about they are dealing with maga conspiracies.
But pd did provide their analysis of the facts which is good.
