I don’t think they actually have. Article comes off as bs. I’m sure they have their extremist groups they keep some tabs on, but it isn’t that broad. Govt doesn’t have the resources to monitor every lunatic (left or right) that espouses violence online. 1/6 should have been a wake up call that they needed to destroy a few select organized groups, they dropped the ball on 1/6 (and the tragedy resulting from that failure could have been far worse and far more deadly) but then again the enemy was within.

I assume it’s something the fbi has to do. This group/maga is frequently discussing stockpiling weapons, civil war, killing. We’ve even had a few threads how they will start civil war if Dear Leader is convicted. Just imagine what maga talks about on fringe right wing boards, which the fbi monitors closely. And maga already attacked the capital on Jan 6th, threatening to kill our leaders. Jeesk what more does the fbi need? The Fbi attempts to be aware and prepare or even stop these events early.

I need to save the FBI tip some of our own posters have pushed the civil war narrative. I assume the FBI is aware of that. Super computers and AI can now detect threats on any social media platform no matter how small. That’s why I don’t even joke about the untimely death of the former president.

imo we underestimate the hoovering of data our gov can store and then cull thru matching up key words, individual posters, web sites visited, occupations/unemployment, personal demographics, voting history, etc. I heard a pitch at work (a large corp) how our audit team does that on expense reports. Lower level employee - it’s was easy for them. That was 10 years ago. (Not to mention china, but for another thread)
