There is nothing special about today other than we share a country based on freedom. I have some photos of over 500 Normandy locals and other volunteers who did something to graphically show the sacrifice made to keep us free. No one publicized this effort stateside(and it ABSOLUTELY should have been) and many younger people have no real concept of the sacrifice our young men and women made during the early '40s. View these and remember.

We can never forget these Americans who gave their lives to keep us free. The youngest of the WWII survivors is already in their late '90s--only two survivors of the 4600+ on the USS Yorktown are still with us and they are 101 and 99 years old. If you see one sincerely thank them. I do every chance I get.

How those guys charged forward into a wall of flying lead and shrapnel is humbling.

In all honesty they had no other option at that point. The opening scene to Saving Private Ryan is the most powerful cinematic experience I think ever created.

I know Omaha beach gets a lot of play, but some of the landings in the Pacific were insane.

Yeah, I don’t thank today’s service men for their service (it’s a job) but these guys mostly didn’t have a choice and gave everything in an existential war. WW2, Vietnam and Korean vets should be honored.

No, nothing was ever more powerful than Linda Blair's head spinning around in the Exorcist.

I don't think my dad ever forgave the Japanese for some of the things he saw in the Pacific. Those guys were brutal.

PSA: Both Band of Brothers and the Pacific were recently added to Netflix. I’ve never seen the pacific and I’m starting it now.

Enjoy. I watched this for the first time in 2022 when I was on paternity leave. Absolutely mind blowing. The Bastogne episode in particular still haunts me.
