Listened to the briefing after watching the breakdown by GNFP.

Wonder why the press doesn’t ask specific questions as opposed to general questions that allow him to wax on about the process.

    Examples:

    1. Looked like tackling was a huge issue on a large number of Ky splash plays, yet no questions about it as to why or what was being done to fix it.

    2. Would also like to hear how we had 13 players on the first & goal after a TO.

    3. Why run on 4th and 2 into a 8-9 man box?

Lots of direct questions, but none were asked.

Foolish to take long shots every series. Don’t have to throw bombs or 30 yard passes, throw slants, wheel routes, ever watch the fins or 49ers passing attack? They get the ball out in less than 3 seconds. We do have speedy receivers.

I didn't argue that though. I think he has made some very questionable moves. Just saying he doesn't get the blame for basketball yet and football is yet to be determined. We were in the stone ages facility and staffing wise until recently.

    I totally agree.
    • In late 2021, UF signed CBN for $51.8 million dollars.
    • Napier is almost midway into his second season.
    • I am not in know on how the contract is prorated during the life of the contract. My best guess that at the end of this season, the contract will have a value of $37 million dollars.
    • Should CBN be fired, UF will be on the hook for $32 million dollars
    • I do not see CBN being asked to go away anytime soon.

On the other hand, we do not need to talking about a coaching change at this point.
We need to support out Gators and hope that the players and the coaches grow into the job that they were hired for.

The revolving football coaching door at UF for the past 12 years created the mess that CBN and his players are trying to work through. We need to give them more than just one and a half seasons to move the program back into the top tier of college football.

Thanks for the callout on my dislike. I guess I had a brain fart moment. I went back and changed it to a 'Like". Sorry about that.

He just seems to be asking his players to do things they just simply aren't proficient at doing. Against Utah you might be able to explain it away because we were missing the center. Against Tennessee you might be able to explain it away because inexplicably Tennessee's defense was very passive. But at Kentucky which played aggressively and we had the center available at some point you just have to come away with the conclusion of I've got to change my scheme to adapt to the reality of the personnel that we have. Historically, weaker offensive lines use tempo and spread tactics and get running lanes via the spread. I just don't understand what we are trying to accomplish. It's like watching Mike White's offense when he was bball coach. There just doesn't seem to be a consistent path to stressing a defense and scoring points.

As a unit in 2018, Samford's offense led the FCS in passing yards per game (392.7). The offense also ranked fourth in the FCS in total offense (515.9 ypg.), and eighth in both red zone offense (.898) and in first downs (298). Meanwhile in 2017, the Bulldogs' offense led the SoCon and ranked fifth in the FCS in passing yards per game (33.4 ypg.).

I understood why he did that. He’s got a young team and building confidence is probably object #1.

Agree, if he is a true CEO type, you always look for folks smarter than you are. That is how organizations thrive long term.

We are really thin at WR. Needed to bring in a WR transfer or kept some of those who transferred.

Then I wish you would tell me why you're sure, so that I could share in your belief. I'm not talkng about the PC. What I see on the field week after week reminds me of Einstein's definition of insanity.

    Orlando.... Again
BN didn't handle that well, and didn't have the team ready to play. We expected a tough year. What we didn't expect is 3/5 games the team would not match the energy of the team we were playing.

Hogwash. Every AD at a major program keeps a list and at a place like FL, the AD has the resources to expedite the search. And if it's about suffering, why follow the sport? I never thought about suffering Gator football. Also wonder why you bring up Mike White. Better to try and enjoy the games and the program than to worry about negative hypotheticals.
