Well, I thought he did a great job at Memphis and he fielded entertaining offensive football there. I was honestly a little concerned when FSU hired him, because I thought he was a good hire. Regrettably, him being a good hire is proving true for FSU. They played a good game.
A good lesson for other teams....patience is important if you want to see success. The coaches with great (and then sustained) success in year one or two are very, very rare. I'm glad we got our guy. I hate the Noles as much as the next Gator, but it is hard to dislike Norvell or not give credit to what he's done at a program with lesser resources that was imploding for the last 4-5 years. Now, if they played in the SEC this year, they'd lose 2-4 games, IMO. They are good, not great. But that is still enough to finish ACC unscathed and end up a #2 seed in the playoff.
