    The Gators at home this week are 28 point favourites.

    Hopefully our team won't be suffering a hangover from last week's big win over UT, nor will they get caught looking ahead to next week's away game at Kentucky.

    Those would be my only concerns. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing further development of both Offense and Defensive units plus (hopefully) the emergence of the third unit - Special Teams - which has been sorely missed and needed!

    Gators lead only 7-6 at the half. Panic ensues. Then we have an uncharacteristic 21-point 3rd quarter to open it up. Smack goes 3-3 FG's in the 4th and we give up a late, meaningless TD with our 2nd stringers in.

    I will jump on the forty point bandwagon and say 49-17. I think Charlotte can score, particularly late in the game when we are playing very green players. What I am hoping to see in this game:
    1. Cleaned up kicking game. Critical especially when you play a ball control offense where you typically have tight games against quality opponents. PAT and short kicks should be routine.
    2. More aggressive and creative passing game. This may be tough if Charlotte plays it safe like McNeese but that is also an opportunity to practice against a zone defense. I would rather see a clunky but adequate win where we test some passing plays than a 300+ rushing master class against a weak opponent. We already know we can run. Let's try and get the passing game on track.
    3. Continued well played defense with some eye to minimizing the big play. Obviously we have seen some big plays which is a consequence of a young defense. I expect them once in a while, especially in college ball. However, they should minimized of course. Nothing dire but UT did miss a couple of wide open throws which would have been TDs or long gains.
    Just a wish list.

    Slow out of the gate. 7-3 end of first. Charlotte scores a second half touchdown. 41-10 final. It will be interesting to see how mature this team is.
