And an Orange Jersey :) reminds me alot of Emmitt - better top end speed though

strong lower half, defenders just seem to bounce off Etienne the way they used to off E22

The one Vol sure did on his long TD run. Low center of gravity; that is the key.

I saw exactly that, several times last night. They’re very similar in their running styles, imho.

Subtle but sudden burst - good vision (but nobody ever has E22 vision)

We were talking about that last night watching the game. He's the closest to Emmitt I remember seeing.

I saw Emmitt in hs and I knew instantly but so did most everyone. He was only a sophmore the first time I saw him. Man among boys. He killed those poor db’s if he got loose which was very often.

I won't burden Trevor with such comparisons at this point. Just let him be himself.

A comparison to arguably the greatest running back in football places too high of expectations. I'm sorry to be weird about this.

I'll note that other than Kerry Strug's gymnastics vault on a busted ankle, the most courageous thing I ever saw in sports was watching Emmitt, with a separated shoulder, keep running the ball against the Giants to clinch the NFC East in 1993. It was amazing to witness.

Maybe if ETN wore them big pads and that half shirt it would look more like Emmitt.

If he wore #22, we'd get another penalty for having two of them on the field...

Etienne did look the part game 1 as a true freshman. I'm not saying he's Hershal or Emmitt, but Napier and the staff knew he was the real deal because he actually got real carries.

I'm not sure Napier will ever have a back get the carries or touches that come close to what the greats would get. Kids probably like that to some degree, need to keep some tread on the tires for the league.

A few of my friends and I drove over to Pensacola to watch him in 1986 (I believe) and he was impressive, running through tackles and dragging kids down the field. I ran into him after he’d been in the NFL a few years in Seville Quarter one night and he was kind of rude to me when I said hi to him, one of those don’t meet your heroes moments.

I was thinking the same thing. Very reminiscent of 22. Similar builds and there’s a palpable “it” factor you can sense when they have the ball. I would say Emmitt was a bit more elusive but Etienne definitely has got more acceleration. Watching his feet when he saw a crease and hit the nitrous button was highly gratifying.

Ah man! Let Kahleil keep his number. Third generation Gator wearing the number of his father and grandfather.

Maybe Etienne can throw the ball a couple of times and we can reminisce about Wuerffel.

Just kidding- I do see some emmitt in him as well

He’s a dick. He’s been rude to so many people here. He actually got booed out of the place at a Roy Jones fight here. Says good things on tv but not a nice guy.

Emmitt saw the holes before they opened and deceptive speed. Etienne has elite cutting ability and elite speed. IMO.

Sat next to him on a plane into Dallas a couple of years ago. I gave him space but he was cool to me. One of my early NFL hero’s was Dorset. Ran in to him at a convention didn’t speak to him but as coke user I could tell he was high as a kite. Was disappointed as my personal rule was no Coke before dark…
