The thing to do in Tecmo Bowl was snap it to the QB and run backwards to the endzone, then throw a pass out of bounds, could run a good 30 seconds that way
"Sweep the leg! You have a problem with that?" Video () shows nine seconds on the clock when the play began, Mertz clearly took a knee at 0:06 before Thomas knocked him back.
Quite the assumption on both ends. I've got no old scores with you. That's a joke. You were just flat out wrong and kept pushing multiple times to multiple posters who each time said that isn't how it works. You wouldn't listen and kept trying to prove you were right. Seems you are the one with grudges and a complete lack of understanding or listening capability. Time to drop it.
In my mind yes it was a cheap shot and was rightly called a penalty but when I watched it real time I never saw Mertz take a knee - rewatching he did take a knee but just a moment before he was hit. It seems to me too much is being made of this. Take whatever punitive actions on both sides and move forward. I can certainly understand guys sticking up for Mertz but the at least one guy out there flailing fists was over the top.
I mean if he doesn't know that... we need to start explaining everything in every post. Ridiculous bs.
On that note I hope UF is prepared next week for Kentucky, Stoops’ guys have injured our QB's several times.
The ball was out around the thirty yard line. You want the Qb to run backwards thirty yards into the endzone, and hope he doesn't get hammered and stripped of the ball along the way? Cool.
CJH has coached 65 games as a HC. He's 3 lowest points scored. 2022 Uga- 13 2021 UF - 14 2023 UF - 16
Heupel can hide behind the we play to the end nonsense and of course he had a timeout and used it within the rules of the game but there is something to be said for a coach knowing how to win and lose with class and dignity. Obviously, Heupel has yet to understand that...as everyone including his own players knew the game was over and headed for the locker before he called that classless timeout.
Good heads up RE Kentucky's history of dirty play with our QB, and their seeming enjoyment of that reputation. Hopefully, we are on the lookout.
