He will have to do it at a different school if he does. Colorado is not a destination school for an up-and-coming head coach.

Saban’s recruits didn’t look so great today.

Seems like the run may be turning into a trot.

Why is it not a destination school? Power 5 conference. Beautiful campus. Pay is legit. They won a national title in 1990.

Now, I mean, if you're talking about a scenario where a certain school from closer to where he grew up comes calling, a school who might be looking for a new coach in the near future, a school that has very deep pockets and will be flush with talent upon his arrival....yes, I could envision Deion coaching at the Swamp.

The problem is, all Deion's advantages disappear in NFL, more or less like Meyer.

I cannot envision Deion coaching at the Swamp. Just can’t. But if one of the actual big schools come calling. Yes, I think he will go to where he can win championships.

Sanders doing what he is doing at Colorado is the best thing we could hope for. As much as we need to up our recruiting to compete with UGA, Alabama, and LSU, we need another 5 schools to up their recruiting to take a bigger piece out of the teams at the top. If every year Colorado takes one 5-star recruit that would otherwise go to UGA, another that would otherwise go to Alabama, etc., it only helps us level the field with the teams we actually play. We need the same thing from Lincoln Riley at USC.

He has the Name, background, history, intelligence as well as charisma that makes him a recruiting magnet/force. Players want to play for him, a players coach. By year three or less he will be competing for a national championship if he is still at Colorado.

If Colorado can afford to pay a tip roster, there’s no reason it can’t be done there.

Saban will be 72 in October. At some point age produces a Bowden or Paterno impact on winning. Either young recruits don’t feel they can relate to a coach older than their grandparents or the coach starts experiencing age and memory related challenges. Remember when the Pouncey twins realized Bowden had no clue who they were during a FSU visit? Bama just lost to Texas and Georgia has passed Bama by. Saban never used to lose to former Assistants. NIL could also allow other big programs to pay what Bama has. The transfer portal also makes it difficult for Bama to hold on to their 2nd stringers on depth chart. Think Bama is no longer the top dog. Still great program and win games but no longer a champion as Saban ages further

Just don’t see if it if a bigger school opens the bank vault. But stranger things have happened.

Of course, if another school like Florida makes an offer he can’t refuse, he’s not going to pass that up. The same would apply to any other coach. Every man has his price. That said, Time could increase his asking price with a conference title or BCS appearance. That may happen this year. Anytime you have a play maker like Sanders at QB, with a good crop of skill players, two legit Heisman candidates, it’s very possible.

So I guess this somewhat negates the adage that new coaches have to wait to get “their players”.
