I’m not on any social media, but my wife’s Facebook got hacked and her email and password have been changed. She doesn’t really care about posting but she doesn’t want someone posting shit under her name. Can’t talk to anyone on the phone. Any suggestions?
It is a major PITA. My daughter got hacked and I tried to notify Facebook and like you could never get through. There are places on Facebook where you can flag things and report them. I just kept doing that over and over. I also posted on her profile this account has been hacked to warn others. The hacker was engaging in financial fraud and actually got one of her gullible friends to give bank account information and had like a thousand dollars pulled out. At that point I called the police to file a report but didn’t remember what happened. One thing I did was I also got an email to Facebook that is supposed to be used by law enticement and sent an email through that. Eventually I think it got resolved but I can’t say what if anything we did helped.
How To Change Password on Your Hacked Facebook Account - YouTube You could try this ... EDIT... looks like that guy is trying to sell something at the end, but shows to how to get to the facebook recovery page, anyway.
Also try some of these executive email contacts. Facebook Customer Service Contact Support Via Phone Email Exec Contacts - Elliott Report I have had a lot of success using that website to get things solved with other companies.
Tell her I’m sorry but she is collateral damage to my sinister plan to be the only magnet of any snatch on this site.
I became a fairly attractive Asian woman on facebook after a hack. I'm sure my friends think I've gone through some life changes. I know someone fairly high up at Facebook (Meta) and they couldn't help me, so I just gave up.
She honestly rarely posts or goes on it. One of her friends texted her to let her know she posted a random picture. She really doesn’t gaf about facemeta. I think she was more afraid of someone using her account to scam someone. I’ll tell her she’s out of luck. Lol
Been quite a few years ago maybe a decade but had a friend who was on a public computer logged into FB at some cafe or somewhere. He left and forgot to log out. Somebody came after him and posted an announcement that he is coming out and he is gay, and he’s been holding back his entire life. Later he logs on not knowing what happened and he is getting all these messages of support, and things like “I always suspected” etc. The thing is he was single, and a little bit different (he would highlight his hair, but he is not gay, he is married now). It took a bit of work convincing friends and family he wasn’t actually gay.
That’s the problem. She can’t. Once you lose control and the change all the passwords and backup information your screwed.
She can’t delete it. She can’t log on. She sent them emails. So either way she’s done with it. Just thought someone may know a way to go about this.
If the hacker posts anything report all of the posts to Facebook. Probably won’t help buy you never know.
Sorry man. She’s SOL. My son’s instagram was hacked and they impostered him for a few weeks and Facebook was zero help. There were 100 steps that ended in silence. My mom lost her facebook page and had to start over too. Totally bogus by Facebook.
Yeah, it’s a shit show. She’s posted on it like 3 times in the last year so it’s not a biggie. Still, though, very disturbing what a cluster fk this, supposedly, successful company actually is.
