If you don’t have the vaguest understanding of libertarianism you probably shouldn’t preach against it.
Maybe I don't, but it seems to involve going to racist and anti-science message boards and posting weird/terrible memes
Demands for racism are outstripping supply and science is whichever way the wind is blowing and who’s funding your study.
The people who supported the Iraq war made them irrelevant, and portrayed people like Cindy Sheehan/Code Pink as unhinged lunatics
The propaganda of that text is strong. But, yes, society is better with some form of centralized government. As long as we realize the government will ALWAYS act to protect itself as an entity, over acting to protect the interests of the people it represents. Edit: But, in 1948, that text actually is more of a reality than what we encounter from our government today. So, maybe my sense of “propaganda” in the text is based on the hindsight of 80+ years, since.
I'm not sure I agree. Currently, there is no negotiation to solutions from what I can see. There is just a stalemate accompanied by hysteria from both poles. From a legislative perspective, there is no real governance. It should be the most powerful branch but it has decided to bow to the executive and judicial branches. And the electorate does nothing about it.
I'm just saying we don't have a extreme libertarian or government does everything system (mainly because none of those are particularly achievable Constitutionally for many reasons), but no one seems particularly satisfied with the splitting of the difference that is basically baked into the American system.
Ha, that's great! "Bernie is a warmonger!" Who does he want us to attack? "Uh, I got this chart saying that government is bad"
