True, but I don't think Kerwin "emerged" as much as the folks in front of him dropped off (injuries?) and he was next. More like "look what we found!" And obviously, he had one heck of a team surrounding him.

No. The starting QB, Dale Dorminey, suffered a knee injury like a week or two before the start of the season (Miami game) in Tampa. KB was 5th on the depth chart at that time. Pretty certain no other QBs were injured. Galen Hall felt like Kerwin had the best grasp of the offense, and that allowed him to make the leap to QB #1. Edit: I was incorrect about the timing on Dale’s injury. He went down 4 days before the Miami game.
