I'm not denying anyone anything. I don't have that kind of power. I just won't support a team that protests on an international stage. They represent the USA, warts and all. No need to protest a cause in another country that doesn't care what you are protesting about. Save your protests for when you are back in the States.
whatever you think people here said about Barron Trump a few years ago doesn't justify your comment about Pelosi. It's time to apologize not try excuse it.
The some who you refer to are generally shitheads. I don’t worry about making shitheads happy in my life why should they?
I can't think of a better way to represent the USA than to show the world our unshakeable belief in free speech, including the right to criticize our country in order to make it a better place. But hey, if that makes you not want to support Team USA, that's certainly your right.
Incorrect. This was possibly the most effective protest in athletics ever. Black Power Salute at the 1968 Olympics
It's been my experience that people who share or agree with your attitude and aggressive post pose a far greater threat to America than those women. I think the flag should be honored, but people becoming livid and having hissy-fits over those who feel differently bespeak a dangerous inclination towards violence. We saw some of those folks on January 6, desecrating the American flag as the carried it, along with the Trump flag, while storming the very symbol of our country. Did you have a hissy-fit then?
Whew. When I saw your thread title I figured they got knocked out because some dudes were competing as women on the opposing team. At least it wasn’t that.
Imagine rooting against an American team competing in an international event because you’re a half wit who has been duped by a twice impeached, thrice indicted orange man baby. Sweet life fellas.
Real disappointment and plenty of criticisms to go around. The team was not well coached and the system never seemed to gel with the talent. Plus injuries to key players that could overcome the coaching never made it on the pitch. With the world catching up fast in women's soccer, the US is going to need to rebuild. I thank all the players and coaches that put the USWNT on top and set a high standard. Predictable response from MAGA, strong, independent, successful women are threatening. Watching Pelosi take that sick puppy Trump down. Pure joy.
I woke up expecting a challenging match for the USWNT. Sauerbrunn’s injury before he tournament was a question mark, but Ertz did a great job for the team moving to CB. LaVelle’s yellow accumulation changed the plans for substitutions, unfortunately inserting a less than impactful Rapino. Surprised that Demelo didn’t get the call for a substitution. Thompson being left on the bench was a travesty. I don’t like that the manager didn’t use all the substitutions. Naeher has been solid. Can’t take anything away from her. Sadly 11 shots on goal and Musovic did her best Lev Yashin impression today. Don’t understand the politics. It’s a soccer game. It was enjoyable to watch even though the US lost this one.
I'd imagine that they are going to hire a new coach that emphasizes speed of attack and goes much younger. Build around Smith, Rodman, and Lavelle as she gets healthier again in the attack. Horan will stay in the midfield as the captain. Smith and Rodman are taking a lot of criticism for the lack of goals, but both are still college aged, so they will be back and will hopefully learn from this and be put into a better position to succeed going forward.
MAGA folks hated the black power protest too LOL. The only protests they fully support are the ones where infidels storm the Capitol building, stampede police and smear poop on walls
Have to disagree, it was not enjoyable soccer. It was terrible soccer. Not scoring a single goal against a huge underdog in Portugal and then again vs Sweden is just bad. No cohesiveness and rapinoe shouldn't of even been on team let alone the first sub in. Her time has passed, I appreciate what she did for USWNT but anybody with eyes could see she didn't belong on the pitch. There is some young talent but they need a overhaul and a change of leadership
