I hate Trump with a passion but a tweet like this that put Pence in danger is not the same as a premeditated plan to have him killed and replace him with someone who will do Trump's bidding.

The Michigan fake electors went so far as to forge documents and then submit their fraudulent documents to the U.S. Senate and national archives, and that is what they are ultimately charged with. I remember a lot of people made fun of these idiots when their forgeries first came to light.

 

One of those electors was in the media shortly after she was charged claiming that her signature was forged.

Either way, transmitting those docs to the NA and Senate sure seems like trying to execute a crime.

Gee, why would a poster mention Trump in a thread about a slate of fake electors who were assembled to try to throw a valid election won by Biden in a landslide to Trump? That's a real head scratcher there.

 

They're not charged with trying to forcibly take power but w/six felonies involving a conspiracy to submitting false elector documents to the National Archives & Senate. I suppose that in a sense it is "pretending to be someone else" since they were not the official electors given that Biden won Michigan.

In forgery did they use it to gain property, land, money, services, entrance into a place or any TANGIBLE act?
Uttering an publishing... LMFAO!
Did the commit forgery in the election? or is thins an after the fact "crime" that never actually happened.

Well they certainly did pretend, but they did so in a way that opened them up to these charges. They could have gone out in public and claimed to be the electors and say whatever they wanted. They got themselves into this pickle by signing elector documents and transmitting them to the NA and Senate. That sure as heck looks like conspiracy and forgery.

Anyway, forgery involves attempting to "defraud" as well.

750.249 Forgery of records and other instruments; uttering and publishing; exception.

Sec. 249.

(1) A person who utters and publishes as true a false, forged, altered, or counterfeit record, instrument, or other writing listed in section 248 knowing it to be false, altered, forged, or counterfeit with intent to injure or defraud is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 14 years.
(2) This section does not apply to a scrivener's error.
