What a shat show in Manhattan today over an influencer posting to his 20 million followers about a video game console giveaway. We are lost. Morons. https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/large-crowd-gathered-at-union-square-seen-hurling-objects/Watch live: Chaos erupts at Manhattan's Union Square during livestreamer Kai Cenat's giveaway
Chaos often follows close behind many a mass gathering, especially when it involves young people. Sports championship celebrations Political protests/unrest Insurrectourism (deserves it's own category ) College block parties Black Friday sales
A few thousand teen boys show up and the crowd spills over into a construction area. A few boys jump on top of a structure. Lots of loitering around. Kids get restless and turn over some barricades. A bunch block the "celebrities" car trying to leave. Some kids start throwing stuff- water bottles, cones. Police show up and clear the crowd. I wouldnt call it chaos but it looks like teen boys being stupid. No one seemed to get hurt but a water bottle hurts if it hits you. Police did a really good job from what I saw. Rogan Ohandley i.e. DC Draino has a following that grows increasingly more and more extreme. Seems like the "Influencers" have an ever increasing reach and power on society. It's one thing to cause chaos over giveaways but an it's an entirely different problem when the messenger and messages are political extremes. I fully expect more and more problems from influencers of all kinds going forward....or should I say backwards?
The takeaway here is how easy it now is for our real masters to shut down the economy when it suits their investment goals. I'm sure this was a random event, but how hard would it be to replicate it on a larger scale in every major city at once?
some cops were injured, hit with bottles, etc. it didn’t get any worse primarily because NYPD called it a “Level 4” mobilization (their highest level of disaster response) with roughly 1,000 officers there to stop it. They are charging Kai Cenat with inciting a riot and a few other crimes.
My family doesn’t have social media outside of Facebook (mostly for family pictures) so we don’t pay attention to those idiots.
Yes but we have installed programs where you can’t access those sorts of vile things. Plus my children listen when I forbid it. I’m lucky in that regard.
