When was the last time most Americans weren't a $400 emergency away from bankruptcy? The 90s? Maybe 2006/2007-ish?
It’s far from perfect but the metrics are undeniably strong across many segments. The fed is no longer predicting a recession. Must be weird to be upset by positive information like that. But I’m not in a cult so…
Especially when your party’s schtick is to convince all of them that they are victims. And if it doesn’t work… I guess we need to create more victims. It’s always someone else’s fault. You should know better.
In fairness some posters here were all but celebrating the covid economy so they could bash the orange guy. It's always gross. Just be glad for America when things are good for America. It's not really that hard.
So when the govt is broke it has a spending problem? But when Americans are broke they have a revenue problem?
Calling BS. During the Trump economy we didn’t act like it sucked. We just pointed out it was doing just as well under Obama when you look at all the trend lines. Righties we’re like: nope. Trump got rid of those durn regulations even though I can’t point to a trend change. Whatever. I never saw liberals rooting for the economy to tank during Covid. In fact they were pushing for stimulus to help the economy even under Trump. Probably saved our economy and maybe the world’s.
I can't feel good. Trump's cuts and Biden's spending might (I will let economists spin) spur the economy but I can't help feel that the bill will come due. Maybe I'm just a grumpy old man.
I quote your hero and somehow I should be upset? Positive information is Youngkin running your state. Negative information is Joe Biden running the country.
I didn’t say you should do anything. You just seem upset that Biden’s economy seems to be defying the odds and avoiding recession. I don’t mind youngkin. Wish he’d run for president and win the GOP nomination but he’s not nearly a big enough shithead to do that.
Sorry CG. Most were doing as you say, but there were literally some dancing on the economic grave. Its a sad part of human nature. When America wins, we all win. Its like being mad if the Gators win with the QB that we didnt think should start. Some folks celebrated when Franks got hurt. Some wanted Emory to fail so they could say I told you so... Etc It's a weird dynamic, but it exists in all places.
And some still use the huge increase in UE under Trump to rip on Pub presidents and job loses. Funny how they just ignore Covid when it’s convenient.
Even without covid the country has added way more jobs under Dem presidents than Repub president over the last 50 or 60 years. It's not even close.
You talked about using Trump's job numbers to rip on Repub presidents in general. I'm just pointing out that you don't need to include Trump's numbers to show that the country has done better under Dems than Repubs when it comes to jobs.
Fair enough. I’d still like to see those numbers for the last 50-60 years(not including the Covid shutdown and reopen).
