(SB) Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

Lady Dukes 18U Sergio lost their first two games and were gone by Wednesday. That is not the premier team, Lady Dukes-Lamar. There are absolutely no scores posted since the start of the PGF tournament for Lady Dukes-Lamar as there are with every other team there that is playing. BTW...Hotshots Nelson is still alive although they lost one game so every game here out is an elimination game. Where did you find information that Lady Dukes-Lamar is even playing?

 

BTW....Beverly Bandits with our Gabi Comia is still alive and in great shape as they have not lost yet. In the Alliance National Championship, the Batbusters are still alive and they won a tough game today against Firecrackers Rico. Shockingly, Mercado got beat yesterday by Fury Platinum 1-0 and they are gone. As for Taylor Shumaker, she is apparently back playing full-time, at least in the last two games. Since her injury and being removed from the game a couple weeks ago, she has seen limited time up to yesterday. Her numbers have fallen off from what they were. LMAO....anyone else would still love her production. Since the game she was first pulled and clearly hurting (I'm including the stats from that game)...she is 8-16 (.500) with 3 runs scored, 11 RBIs, 2 home runs, 2 doubles, a triple, 1 walk and a SAC fly. A clearly hurt Taylor is still better than 99.99% of the players out there.

 

Check that last post.....Taylor is better than me. Batbusters just won another very tough game against Corona Angels-Tyson and are rolling towards the finals. Taylor went 2-4 with a double, a home run, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. There aren't enough superlatives. So updated: 10-20 (.500) with 5 runs scored, 13 RBIs, 3 home runs, 3 doubles, a triple, a walk and a SAC fly. Can't keep up with that kid. (I would add she doing this against the very best competition in the country....teams like Firecrackers-Rico and Corona Angels-Tyson. This isn't rec ball she's hitting against.)

 

Taylor's first ab against the Angels was a medium deep fly out to left center. This is her second ab today. A double to left center fence. She looks totally normal again. Finally. The hip rotations before getting back in the box are normal and not her back. She wasn't doing those when she was really hurting. She ran out the double really well as normal. BTW....I don't think I ever mentioned. She has outstanding opposite field power. I haven't kept track but I'll bet more than half of her home runs have been to either dead center or left center.

 

Would love to post Taylor's home run against the Angels but there was a lot of buffering in the game and it missed her actual swing and picked up as the ball went deep over the center field fence. Typical. She can pull the ball and go deep but she swings consistently to center or opposite field with ropes that should be gappers but go well out of the park. Very rarely pops up or hits moonshots. I realize I am a broken record about this but this kid is as special as any kid I have seen in a long time. And she still has her senior year in high school to go. They should ban her from playing high school and doing unimaginable things to high school pitchers. Edit: Rewatched the double clip. Angels are scouting her well. Even though she is as good a power hitter as there is currently, they are shading her to the opposite field. Smart coaches. In other words, Taylor just tries to make contact. She doesn't swing for the fences. She hits line drive after line drive after line drive. The parks just can't hold her line drives.

No. That shows the Duke's last game was last Sunday. That's why they aren't showing in the Tourney Machine. They were already eliminated before the real brackets started.

 

I take that back to some extent. I don't know how the tournament operates and I find it hard to believe that one loss after two wins eliminates you from the actual run to the championship. Nevertheless, there is nothing that indicates the Dukes have played since last Sunday.

Yep. Hotshots won their first today and lost to a Georgia Impact team that I don't think is their premier team. Surprising. But, they are done and now Mia, Ava, Cassidy and Ariel can go home and pack everything they own to get to Hogtown on the 17th of August.

 

Can you not read the bracket? Lady Duke lamar lost THIS MORNING to GA Impact. They have played every day.

Here are the official results posted for Lady Dukes - Lamar. There are no scores. Tourney Machine. Here are the Premier Pool Standings: Premier Girls Fastpitch. Lady Dukes-Lamar only appears through Sunday as I said. They do not appear further in the Premier Pool. They also do not appear in the Premier Bracket A. They do appear in the Premier Bracket B but not the same as that article. The article says something about "Lady Dukes Lamar/Burgess" which I have never heard of and don't know what team that is. Could be the team we usually know as Lady Dukes-Lamar with Keagan, Layla and JoJo. I don't know. There are other "Lady Dukes-Lamar" teams in their organization in various age and quality categories. The results I showed in the first link are silent for any Dukes' games and I relied on them. Look up every other major team in that part of the Tourney Machine, which is the prime viewing spot, and ALL of their games up to today are shown but none for the Dukes. That's what I viewed. I can read.

 

Just for the heck of it, here are the results for the Hotshots-Nelson from the exact same Tourney Machine as for whatever this Dukes team is. As you can see, they are up-to-date through today while there is NOTHING from the exact same link for "Lady Dukes-Lamar" and there is no "Lady Dukes-Lamar/Burgess" listed. Tourney Machine. There is no reason why I should have realized, if that is the case, that for some reason ONLY the Dukes and no other team had their bracket results obscured while everyone else carried on in the same prime tournament page for full results moving from pool to bracket.

 

Delving into this mess deeper. It seems that this Dukes team, assuming it is the premier team we think, for some reason is listed in BOTH Bracket A and Bracket B, which of course makes no sense. Every team I care about....Hotshots, Thunderbolts, Bandits, Dukes are listed in Bracket A and that's what I relied on. And all of those teams, except Dukes, are updated fully through today. Accordingly, since they are shown in Bracket A, I never looked at Bracket B for obvious reasons. Scores for that Dukes team, whatever it is, are shown in Bracket B.

 

Beverly Bandits have made the PGF championship game. Gabi Comia is hitting third (I think). Game is starting now on ESPNU.
