My definition of grooming is an Ohio State wrestling coach, turning a blind eye to the abuse of its wrestlers

Has gov mentioned monitoring the SBC in Florida for their sexual assault of their parishioners?

“The 205-page list of names details allegations and, in many cases, convictions against pastors, clergymen and other church officials who worked in SBC churches throughout the South.”

“A review of the list found that 53 of the alleged sexual abusers on the list were active in Florida. Many of them worked as youth pastors.”

They have to fight indoctrination. And they will do it through reeducation using famed intellectuals like Charlie Kirk, Candace Owens, and Dennis Prager.

You're 100% correct, but you're never going to win an argument with that guy. He's the type who will never admit he's wrong even when he obviously is. In this thread, he never does address the fundamental issue, but just nitpicks.

Prager used to come on a podcast I listened to as a regular guest. He's just another whackadoodle right wing victimhood guy.

What’s a nitpick? Is that one of those elusive facts or truths that the left are repulsed by? Not really sure how I could possibly be “wrong” about asking someone to clarify their position, but I guess that may be a “nitpick?”

wait? Nitpicking means when someone’s sticking a boot up another person’s bum? I didn’t know that. Is it French?

But he and his people do a great job of producing videos with easily digestible talking points and stick in your head phrases and images.

I teach Civics, which just had it's standards revised. Here is what I see - no hype, just fact.

    1) Tinker vs Des Moines has been removed from the Civics standards. This is my biggest beef - they left Hazelwood vs Kuhlmeier in the curriculum. Message: Censorship is good, free speech is not.
    2) Added a standard to explain the origins and evolution of the Electoral College. Unless you believe the Electoral College should be eliminated, and I don't, this is a pretty balanced standard.
    3) Added a standard to teach 9/11 and the Holocaust. Probably net positives.
    4) Added the Dred Scott decision to the standards. SHOULD HAVE been included all along, in my opinion.
    5) Added a standard to teach the historical context of communism and it's failures as an economic system. Doesn't address the totalitarianism that tends to go with the economic system, so a bit out of place in the course.

That is all. Overall, nothing is too egregious, except the exclusion of Tinker, which IMO, is a travesty. Can't speak for the other SS courses.

I’ve actually read all 21 pages of the framework. My biggest issue is not so much what is in there (except for Rosewood and Ocoee) but what’s NOT in there. Pretty much a whitewash of Florida’s role in slavery, Jim Crow, etc.

The other concern is that in looking at the information a lot of the benchmarks are very low level, identify rather than “examine, explain, analyze” as they relate to individual African American citizens and contributions.

Not surprising. It's our job as teachers to push students beyond "identify".

Except there are other standards that do require higher level thinking beyond identify. In addition, we need to make sure kids understand what higher order thinking skills entail and those typically ARE in the standards.

He's NOT falling for it. He knows it's bullshit, but he pushes that bullshit anyway. These people know the truth. They just cannot STAND the truth!

But there's never been a true Commmunist state, historically speaking. Once the "revolution" takes place, the government dissolves and "the people" are in charge. No state has ever reached that point. Dictators have used a command economy and Communism to further their own interests and not for the interests of the people.
