Apparently the only word that you really read was "Trump" and it seems to have triggered the standard response on your part since the post concerned the possibility that the culprit was a Secret Service agent who may have been loyal to Trump not that Trump was involved in any way and apparently you're also lacking a sense of humor since it should have also been rather obvious that the post was facetious.

You mean people like me who continue to mention the defeated former president? Speaking only for myself if he behaved honorably like Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and even Al Gore and conceded that he lost the election and acceded to the peaceful transition of power like every defeated incumbent president in US history since John Adams in 1800 maybe we wouldn't be mentioning him. Instead the malignant narcissist refused to accept his defeat, attempted a (fortunately failed) coup d'état, and is running for election again, not to mention his recent indictment resulting from his own hubris (if he returned the documents when requested he never would have been indicted) and his strategy of attacking the messenger.

Well, the Secret Service has concluded its investigation and just can’t figure out how that cocaine might have gotten there. Could have been anybody, it seems. So let’s just shrug and move on.

Secret Service closes investigation into cocaine found at White House with no suspect identified

But does anyone want to take a stab at why the Secret Service got the nod for the investigation? I mean instead of an agency more suited like the FBI or DEA. The Secret Service is only mandated to lead the investigation if there is or was a threat to the President. Do we think that is or was the case?

    So this has been fun
First it was report that the cockiness was found somewhere else ( I don’t remember where).
Then press secretary claimed none of the Bidens had even been there in the last 5-7 days.. when they had in fact left just Friday evening.
Now the secret service cannot figure out how cocaine got into the White House?
I don’t care. I’m not surprise done way or the other by this but it has every mark of a cover up.
It doesn’t change anything if it’s hunters or Joes or Jill’s. Nothing changes
If it was found out to be Jill Bidens most here who vote liberal would still vote for Joe
Hell some would vote for Joe if he came out and said it was his and a little bump at 3pm keeps him moving and grooving to get the job down.
    So who cares
But it looks and smells (snort snort) like a cover up.

So you take a stab at it then. Why the Secret Service? What possible advantage is there for anyone in having them do the investigation since drugs are not one of their specialties?

Once the substance was identified as coke, and there was no longer a potential threat, would it really be standard procedure to call in the FBI and DEA because someone dropped a dime bag of coke?

Just an uneducated guess but because the security of the WH is within its mission and that overrides the drug offense?

Maybe it belongs to a secret service member? Do they drug test after the hiring process?

And they are all subject to regular polygraphs. And the Agency wouldn’t have had the first problem telling us that it was one of their own who had subsequently been suspended. I think City was being tongue in cheek in suggesting a Secret Service agent was our culprit.

I don’t think there are any standard procedures for this. It’s a bit unprecedented as far as I can tell. But to answer your question my guess is that depends on how bad they really want to know. If the answer is “not really,” then this is exactly how one would go about it: give it to an agency ill-equipped to find the answer and, by pure coincidence, the most difficult to compel testimony from in a court of law or in Congress.

You can appreciate Biden’s politics all you like, but it’s been proven over a number of decades that he will lie about pretty much anything. Imagine if this had been the Trump White House. The media would’ve hounded Kayleigh and Trump until they got their answer. If Trump refused, it would be a huge scandal. But I think Trump would have let the information out, as he’s not about to let someone make him look bad and receive total impunity.

That’s not the word I would use, but personally do you find any of this odd or does it strike you as 100% above board?

I'm making light of it. It's just that the west wing entrance is used by both staff and tour visitors. If the visitors are asked to remove phones from pockets, I could easily see how someone's cocaine came out with it (and im assuming it is a small quantity). I don't find that nefarious, or criminal, I just find it human. We could have the FBI investigate, and say they were able to trace it down to a couple of suspects. Do you prosecute them and what would be the penalty? Of course you can come up with a different scenario, but it still doesn't rise to a crime worth pursuing.
