I'm driving from Salt Lake City (feel free to reach out if you are coming this way for the football game) with my two boys. Any hotel recommendations from those that have gone previously or are currently there? Where is the team staying? Do you know if they will do any pre-game pep rallies or anything of that sort? What is the best way to get tickets? I've been stalking stubhub and most of the CWS games seem pretty reasonable, but the championship series is more pricey. Do you think these prices will come down once the matchup is set?
The team is staying at the EVEN which is an IHG hotel. It is downtown. Since you are driving you may want to look at staying out west a bit--rooms will be cheaper.
If you have your boys with you- the Old Market area is fantastic and very walkable. There’s a residence inn there- not sure of pricing but that would be a great place to stay. Close to the Gene Leahy Mall (beautiful park that just reopened) as well as walkable to the stadium. Tons of restaurants there as well walkable from everything. The other neighborhood I love in Omaha is the Blackstone district- with you having a car this could make a ton of sense as well
Pretty much everywhere in metro Omaha is a max of 45 minutes from the stadium. That’s assuming you’re coming from way out in Gretna/Elkhorn. Plenty of cheaper hotels across west Omaha that are a 20 minute Uber from downtown. I’d stick to the Ticketmasters and StubHubs for tickets and avoid any scams. YOLO, just spend the money. I had to come home for work this week, but am looking at heading back up Saturday morning. The more Gators that can make it the better!
You can still can scammed on StubHub. They just promise to try and get you in and definitely give you your money back if you do. If someone sells you a ticket and then sells it to someone else who already scanned it, StubHub can’t do anything about it. As much as I despise LiveNation and therefore Ticketmaster, their primary tickets are the only ones you can be 100 on. Their secondary market “verified resale” is also trustable. Check this out though, on verified resales, TM sold the primary and then get money for selling it again (more service fees for them and a percentage of the sale). All that said I use StubHub often. (Dozens of times a year and can report one scam only, but it sucked. They got me in some free seats that were horrible and returned my money).
As has been stated on other threads, if LSU goes down tonight, there will be a ton of tickets become available which should keep pricing in check
There will be tickets but LSU baseball fans are also GREAT baseball fans. They go to Omaha even if the team doesn't and attend games that LSU isn't playing in. I really want them to lose but I have to give props to their fans as also being fans of the game.
Staying at the Towneplace Suites. Might as well get some Marriott points and free breakfast A little worried about tickets. 3 tickets for 3 games
