“Responsible gun owners….” We need more good toddlers with guns to counteract the bad toddlers with guns.
I assume the toddler won't be tried as an adult. But if there's a man of the house, he could be in trouble about the gun.
The two year old won't be prosecuted period, incapable of forming criminal intent. I can't believe that child is going to have to live the rest of his life with the knowledge he killed his mother. The gun owner should get the full monty. This is so incredibly tragic.

I had a cousin who shot and killed his wife in the 90s and shot and killed himself cleaning his gun in 2004. Both were ruled accidental but you have to wonder considering he was highly trained in handling firearms. He was an Airborne Ranger in the service and a Police officer later in life, he was also a heavy drinker which makes me wonder.....Anyway I often wonder what his daughters went through.

that video is bizarre. Dude emphatically states he’s the only one there who can handle the Glock…….BLAM! shoot’s himself in the leg. Then at the :50 mark looks at his leg and snaps he fingers like “darn it!“. Proceeds to limp around continuing the lecture and ask for another gun. It’s like a snl skit.
Was that the famous case where the Court ruled that since the plaintiff held a degree from FSU, the DEA cannot be held responsible for making him a laughingstock as it was a pre-existing condition?
awful. I anticipate most here have antidotal examples of accidental shootings and near misses (hopefully nothing this tragic).
In my cousins 2 "accidents" there are reasons they were both ruled as accidental deaths but still quite questionable that it would happen twice to someone trained to handle guns. In the case of his wife, he was still a LEO and came home from work. The story was she was drinking and they got into an argument. She grabbed his service revolver and pointed it at his head. He slapped it out of her hands and it went off...... The bullet struck her in the head and the gun blast blew out his ear drum, I guess from the powder burns on his right hand and the fact that the gun went off next to his left ear they determined it wasn't intentional. He was found innocent of any wrongdoing but lost his job as a LEO. His own death was ruled an accident because the gunshot didn't directly kill him. He shot himself in the stomach cleaning his gun and died while recovering in the hospital. He was recovering when one night he vomited in the breathing tube which was the cause of death.
