Softball Transfer Portal

I don't know if it's been mentioned before. Keagan mom is/was on the short list of candidates for the position. Not only that was apparently also considered before Bosch was hired. I have doubts Laura considered the job. I'm sure she wants to enjoy watching Keagan pitch in college and or has younger children still living at home.

 

I am not bashing Liv, but the facts are she is not an SEC-quality pitcher or hitter.
She also pouted when she did not get to play.
I wish her well at her next stop.

 

Tim gave her more than enough chances, in big spots, as a hitter; and for the most part she didn't come through.

 

So Sully can take a week and go out and get a pitcher. Walton hasn't been able to get one in going on 3 years. I don't know what is going on but it causes me considerable concern.

 

I don't care about the when....just the final result.

 

"When" seems to be an issue.

 

We are just impatient. We know the roster is going to expand from what we have now.....we don't know who and we don't know when. We know the coaching is staff is going to expand too. We may end up ecstatic, we may end up disappointed....but the timing isn't a big concern in my mind.

Jordy makes it official....Nebraska....as if there was any doubt. The Nebraska coach is obviously living a charmed life.

 

Sure wish someone would make it official with the Gators.

 

There will be a transfer in town tomorrow. I do not know the name yet, but that is a positive.

 

There has been more than one occasion when a fan base has been ‘encouraged’ to be patient (and honestly, what else CAN we do besides endure) and that we’d be pleased with the results, but then, it turned out, we weren’t. Pleased, that is. Just because Coaches HAVE ‘gotten it right’ in the past does not predicate that they will again. And just because they tell us that things will be alright does not mean that they will . We sure hope that things work out. But there are times when as fans we can see a ‘train wreck’ coming from a mile off. And it’s only natural to be concerned/disturbed by the potential. Here’s to hoping that CTW gets both his roster AND his staff right enabling the program to return to hot pursuit of championships.

 

I was hoping our new pitching coach would be hired before we select portal pitcher(s). That being said we need at least one comparable to Alex Storako to provide a competitive transition/role model for the new recruits. I hope CTW is allowed the latitude to acquire this level of player, as it would be a necessary kick start for the program.

 

I think I would prefer Chinese Water Torture to waiting to hear about the new pitching coach and what, if any, players we pick up from the portal. You'd think coach would have had a few names in mind before booting Bosch (which was way overdue) considering he'll be leaving the country in like 2 weeks. I'm going to have to trust in the coach, which is torturous for now.

 

The above three posts are exactly what I had in mind when indicating "when" is an issue and this isn't a situation of impatience. Going on three years we have known we desperately need pitching help from the portal. Nothing. A flock of other high level programs get solid offensive transfers, almost every year, we have had one mid-level (Pal) transfer since Skylar. This isn't a matter of impatience. It is a matter of a proven track record that is frustrating at best and dangerous at the worst. I certainly hope this year will be different but the lack of any important activity to date isn't encouraging. I'll believe good results when I see them and not before.

 

We need to stop with the whole sky is falling stuff. Just because we're not hearing of stuff happening doesn't mean it's not. As we tend to forget there are other factors then just getting somebody to want to play florida softball. I feel like we have scholarships available with the departures but there's NIL stuff to consider, academic requirements, team chemistry, etc.. I'm sure things are happening behind the scenes. Time to trust our coaches and stop criticizing everything.

 

From the glass half full side of the water torture.... I'm figuring CTW knows exactly the big name pitching coach that's going to come and revitalize the staff, but the new pitching coach just has to get untangled from his/her current situation before the announcement can be made.
