Anybody with a working brain can figure it out. Virginia, a state that was +10 Biden in 2020, has 11 congressional seats. There are 4 R seats and 4 D seats. There's 1 competitive R seat and 1 competitive D seat. And the 11th seat is a D+2 seat. Basically, the swing seat is less D than the state as a whole. There are three D seats, three R seats (one that Boebert made competitive because she's a terrible candidate), one competitive D seat, and one swing seat that is R+2 in a state that was +13 Biden in 2020. To me, the only certainty of setting policy regarding the drawing of district lines is that you shouldn't trust anybody drawing the lines. Not saying there's an easy answer. But unless Jesus Christ returns and we find a person who is completely incorruptible, this will always be a little shady, there will always be winners and losers, and it will never be completely fair. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try. But in trying, we need to be careful in not making the system worse than it currently is.
Feel free to tell the rest of us why those maps are unfair. We'll wait. Otherwise, concede the point.
You've failed to prove why the maps are fair. You calling something a "swing" district doesn't make it a "swing" district. You saying something is "neutral" doesn't make it "neutral." You saying something is "competitive" doesn't make it "competitive." These are all arbitrary terms you're assigning and treating as exact science to back your point. And even if THEIR system is "currently" a superior model to other states, that doesn't mean it isn't subject to abuse if the wrong people simply gain control.
I offered data, including links that showed the partisan lean of the tipping point district (which I referred to as the "swing" seat). The burden is now on you to refute it. You've yet to offer anything refuting my points. It's okay if you can't. You're welcome to concede the point.

The Louisiana Second was one of the most absurd districts in the country. All majority black sections of New Orleans, a small sliver of territory down the river and/or down I-10 (wherever there were black people, basically), and then the black section of Baton Rouge. All done to protect majority white Republican districts around it.

So you are saying you want to redraw the districts to give more representatives to one race? Let me get this straight.......White voters control 6 of the states 7 districts, that is 85% when only 73% of the states population is white. So lets redraw the districts to give blacks another district.....Now white voters only control 5 of 7 or 71% of the states districts.....But wait the state has 73% white voters......something ain't fair here.

Gerrymandering was being done back when I was in high school. We learned about it in civics class, that would have been in 1968. It will always be an issue no matter who is in power.
Actually, Alabama is only 65% white (if you don't count Latinos as white; if you do, it's only 69% white). You're assuming that there are only Black people and white people in Alabama. And no, the court is redrawing the districts because the white people in Alabama gave themselves more representation than they should have through racial gerrymandering. So this is actually about remedying a race giving itself more representation.
The 12% differential in representation of the current division seems much more egregious than the 2% differential of the proposed division. I think you are making a good case here for redistricting.
The bottom line is, as typical for libbys you guys are making this about race, not what it should be about, politics. When you start posting with white people as your subject matter the truth shines through.
