70 years ago yesterday. Besides being a great great movie that I highly recommend, a piece of esoterica that may be apocryphal. Did anyone know that Johnny Cash may have been the first American to know?

Who did young Johnny Cash look more like . . . . Johnny Manziel?

    Or Shia Labeouf?

I don’t know if this is true or not, but it seems like Cash did not claim to be the one who intercepted the message, but the first to copy it.

I can imagine a scenario where the person who intercepted the message and translated it, turned to Cash, and said in English what the message was. Then Cash wrote it down and distributed it up the chain of command.

    Who knows?

That is a great movie. It's never on TCM, I guess I must have seen it on Showtime or Starz before I cut the cable. Once in a while those channels would have a movie worth watching.

Agreed. Cash doesn’t strike me as a guy who would make that up.

Yea, not sure and it doesn’t matter that much whether he had a role in translating. No one disputes that he was right there, and it’s a cool fact regardless

I have been to Gori Georgia, birthplace of Stalin. There is not much to do except visit the Stalin Museum and get a super awesome photo with the world's last (?) Stalin statue. You can do it as a part of a day trip with a few other places, and prob stay in Tbilisi. I love Georgia and hope to go back someday, awesome food and wine.
