First, I never said Trump is great. Second, telling us all that somebody is racist without giving us evidence of such seems desperate to me. Who hurt you?
I don't get too worked up over his bluster. It's the actual policy decisions that bother me. Empty words from a politician are empty words from a politician. This isn't Cuba. In America, we have free speech and associational rights. The idea that Marxists in Cuba set up an authoritarian regime, so it's okay to trample the Constitution and set one up here as long as it's an anti-communist regime is repugnant to what are supposed to be our shared values. Fact is that right-wingers attacked the Civil Rights Movement as Marxist race baiters. And people like Joseph McCarthy and allies pushing the Red Scare sought to remove anybody who dissented from government positions, including positions in teaching. They grounded it in claiming that they were ridding schools of Marxist indoctrination. In actuality, it was an attack on the freedoms that make this country great. Those attacks brought us cases like: Sweezy v. New Hampshire Keyishian v. Board of Regents When you're using the same language that regressive reactionaries used to attack the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and academic freedom during the Red Scare, you should expect to be called out for it. I'm glad it's like clockwork. It's good to lay bare the recycled, anti-freedom bullshit you're spewing.
Didn't you hear? All of these policies they don't like are racist because they don't like them and that's evidence of racism! DeSantis needs to stop running on fear-mongering and HATE!
So much empathy in this post. I can feel the empathy just emanating from your body. Nice whitewashing of the Castro regime.
DeSantis is only getting a taste of how much fun it is dealing with some in the Trump cult. Pretty sure this is the same guy who thinks Oprah is the Devil and Obama was backed by the KKK. I'm honestly not sure if it's a grift or if they really believe this stuff. It feels an awful lot like a version of Duper's Delight. Michael the Black Man - Wikipedia HOME
There you go again making crap up. You would think you would’ve learned to stop doing it by now but obviously you don’t care about blatantly lying.
I'm bigoted against Marxists who try to silence conventional norms through mob rule, political intimidation, and authoritative intimidation and pressure from the top. If that's you, eat all of the shit coming your way or get the Hell out of Florida. I'd even accept a tax increase to pay for your flights out of here.
LOL. Last I checked, you're the guy who wants to use governmental authority to impose your "conventional norms" on the rest of us. As a well-known "race-baiting" "Marxist" said, "the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice." We're not going anywhere. The freedom-hating authoritarians will lose in the end.
And you want to impose your "Marxist norms" on the rest of us. You just characterize the imposition of such norms as "advocacy for rights," truth be damned. Good, then you will lose.
The power dynamic in this country has shifted where leftists now have the institutional power that traditionalists had during the McCarthy era. And they are ironically using the same tactics as McCarthy to try and stifle institutional influence from the right, and now they're just angry at the backlash and fallout.
Nah, bro. You want to be a right-winger, do you. I'm going to live by my moral code. If we don't share the same morals, I may choose not to associate with you. I may choose not to do business with you. But I'm not trying to force you to be anything you don't want to be. You have your rights. I have mine. Of course, if you have a business open to the public, you're subject to anti-discrimination laws. But that's part of living in polite society. What I oppose is government swooping in and stopping people who think like me from being able to talk about what they think. But I also oppose the government doing the same to people who think like you. If you're a college professor who believes that gender is binary, the government shouldn't be able to punish you any more than they should be able to punish somebody who believes the opposite. The only exception is if either professor engages in discriminatory or retaliatory conduct (ex. punishing a right-wing student for not agreeing that transgender women are women or punishing a transgender student for not agreeing that gender is binary). I believe in freedom and in America being a vibrant multicultural society. Right. As we've all seen, people like you on the side of repression and discrimination win in the end in this country. That's why Joseph McCarthy, Ross Barnett, and Anita Bryant are revered as heroes in this country.
