It's weird that it's a major talking point of the right. But subsequently, it's one of the few issues I think a lot of people on the left actually agree with them on (in a very broad sense.) They shouldn't be competing in sports of the opposite gender and children/teens shouldn't be getting permanent things done. Again, broad strokes here.

Which is what makes it an interesting paradox. The right has no solutions to actual important issues like health insurance, taxes, spending, etc. So I guess they have to lean extra hard into stuff like this, which is a huge turnoff to me. I can't tell you how many times I have to tell managers to work from big to small.

The much more significant proposals from the right, a number of which have already been reduced to legislation and actually signed by state governors, aren't proposals concerning the participation of transgender athletes or the prohibition against irreversible surgeries for minors under the age of 18 but rather the banning of all gender affirming medical care for children and in some states even medical care for adults over the age of 18. It's essentially the exploitation by right-wing politicians of the lack of understanding of a condition that religious fanatics find repugnant and of which they have little or no understanding. Somewhat ironic that for decades the right in opposing government health insurance has warned that politicians would intervene in decisions involving medical care that should be between the doctor and patient. They turned out to be right only it's right-wing Republican politicians who are supporting legislation providing the state with the authority to intervene in the doctor-patient relationship.

All too often, ideology is projected onto the other side, when in truth the other side is merely reacting to the absurdity of certain claims. backtoback probably starts 2x the number of transgender threads than all lefties here combined.

And she somehow got into Harvard. I think as a parent I would feel some pride in getting a kid into Harvard.

Yep. At the 30,000 foot societal level the proportion of people in the group is really not at the level that should generate the fear and notoriety that it does. It is of major concern for the individuals and their families and really, that’s where it should reside and without the rest of us messing about in their lives. Just used to inflame the masses in my view.

I do not think that someone born male should be competing against cis-females. But it’s of such little impact on society I don’t give it much thought.

These seem to be schemes to 'bypass the system', I think they should be banned.

Persons that are not aquainted with "TOOL" - Should make it a point to be.

    Vicarious, Sober, Bottom -

Maynard is an interesting character. He undersands hardship considering his moms situation.

I'm a rocker but Tool transcends a good fast beat -
They have some INCREDIBLE societal messages to tell.

Vicarious reset my brain. I merely thought about the lyrics -

We are conditioned by the American Executives whom control the FCC.

To what purpose? Political Propoganda, Capatalism, Consumption and every other aspect of life.

Do people ever consider they are sitting (or standing) wearing or holding, some type of box or device that transmits electronic signals that are produced by gigantic organizations bent on controlling your brain, wanting to manipulate every persons politics, your consumer choices, literally EVERY aspect of your life and every move you make?

    I wonder.

Personally I think we are being brain screwed by as sorry an assortment of low life's that one could hardly even imagine.
