The BLM grifters’ new twist: Paying off their critics A "grifter/scammer" outfit all along----- The group’s latest financial disclosure shows it ended the last tax year with a $9 million deficit — plus a new wrinkle: blatantly trying to buy off critics. At least two big-ticket payments, per the outfit’s tax form 990 for tax year 2022, went to prominent detractors. The Tamir Rice Foundation, named for a Cleveland boy killed by the police, got $400,000; its head, Samaria Rice, had blasted BLM’s Patrisse Cullors over her questionable ethics. And the Michael O.D. Brown We Love Our Sons & Daughters Foundation, named after the teen whose death sparked the Ferguson riots, took in $89,303; Brown’s father had come out swinging against BLM for its opacity. This follows such well-documented and dubious outlays as buying real estate for its founders, handing out juicy payments to the firms of board members and employees and paying for private jets — outrages that drove Cullors to step down (at least officially).
Sad that they are exploiting a noble cause giving those who wish to continue to devalue black life a hook to justify their prejudice, but it happens. One thing the piece does not make clear is that Black Lives Matter is not a central organization; the name is not owned. Ms. Cullors simply incorporated her “network” under the name and solicited and grifted well meaning donations. She was exposed, which is a significant part of why donations are drying up. But she has hurt other recipients who would make appropriate use of the funds and given publications like the Post a reason to run a piece to communicate to its readers that they are justified in continuing the caste system this nation operates on, that black lives don’t really matter
MAGA is an oxymoron. FYI from Merriam-Webster- An oxymoron is a self-contradicting word or group of words. Virtually everything the failed former president who used and trademarked the term has done has had the opposite effect of making America great. Perhaps the best example was his refusal to accept the results of a free and fair election something no other defeated presidential candidate has done in the history of the Republic. Fortunately his coup attempt of January 6, 2021 ended in failure with a number of his followers convicted of various crimes and hopefully he will follow in their footsteps.
Is that the test? Do we not care about arson, gun violence, stabbing, beatings, general debauchery or is it just Lynching now? When was the last kkk lynching? They don’t even exist any longer in an organized fashion, do they?
I think many people would say they’d rather be an oxymoron than just a moron, so that MAGA group has that going for it.
and which one of those crimes did BLM publicly support? I don't know that they have ever existed in an organized fashion like KKK did. KKK was an organized group intent to advance segregation. BLM is more of a movement advocating that black lives matter just as much as white lives. do you disagree?
Actually it would be more accurate to say that in the case of a number of Trump supporters the "oxy" is superfluous with the balance of the word being the more accurate descriptor. By the way I apologize if it sounds like I'm demeaning them considering a majority of Trump supporters are essentially marks of the greatest con artist in history, this being an example I previously cited. so people of all races, genders, and even sexual preferences/identities bonding together to sacrifice to help defeat a common enemy... is that what makes america great?
….and is mob violence which includes minorities only get our scorn? But Jan 6th attempted disruption of our election process and beating men and women LEO literally under the flag of MAGA gets a pass?
They engaged in all of them. They also publicly supported all of them. Is this a trick question? do I get a prize?
Here is a hint: when engaged in an online discussion, try to actually stay focused on the topic and comments. I’ve read through all the post, especially mine, but I don’t see any on here condoning any violence, whether it occurred on January 6, or August 15. Try harder with your next post.
