RIP. I got into it a bit via PM about a year ago regarding the racial thread limit and deleting threads. To his credit, he stayed cool, even when I lobbed a snarky insult his way. It all looks very trivial now.
@GatorGrowl has attached his name to Nuttin but Net for the next year as a way for Gator Country to remember him for his time and service here.
I guess when you've been posting on Too Hot for as long as I have, you're going to lose friends. This is exceptionally painful, though, Hall was in my personal TH Hall (pun) of Fame. Such a nice, sweet man. It sounds like he had a great life though, and I'd like to think that his experience on TH contributed to that.
He had to moderate me several times in the early days of COVID. He was very patient and extremely nice about it. He will be sorely missed around here.
I wrote something on the wall that hopefully his family will read. @thatguy wrote some nice words, too. Thanks okla
Thanks Okla and @GatorGrowl. Not just my $.02, but the sentiment of several on the hoops board . . . should consider making the name change permanent.
Appreciate your comments, but right now the plan is for one year like we did with gatornana on Too Hot.
He had that rare quality to calm angry conversations. Hall was the “voice of reason” on this board and he will be missed.
That sucks. Wayne was a good guy, though I know he was suffering some major health issues for the past several years. Really sad that he has passed. RIP Hall
I didn't agree with his politics and most of his decisions. But this is sad news when we lose anybody, RIP Hall
It is with a heavy heart and much respect as Hallgator (Wayne) will be missed. I did not know Wayne personally other than from his posts on this board. None the less it is noted that Hallgator was highly respected among the members and I feel for those closest to Wayne and his family. May God bless his family and keep them well in troubled times. As with such a close knit community on this board many will look back and recall with fond memories Hallgator (Wayne) for years to come.
Hey everyone, I just saw this post and I'm truly heartbroken to hear about Hallgator's passing. I may not have known him personally, but I always admired his dedication to keeping the forums lively and well-moderated.
