Have to ask why did it take six years to consummate the agreement if it was the result Trump policies dating back to 2017. Seems that it was actually the result of a decision that Apple made in 2021.
Apple Strikes Multibillion-Dollar Deal for U.S.-Made Chips
And if a president deserves credit it wasn't Trump. From February 2021
Biden to press for $37 billion to boost chip manufacturing amid shortfall

By the way this is from the bio of the guy who wrote the article attributing the deal to Trump's policies.

    Lol.
The Colorado plant these will be made at was there long before trump.
He did get them to move their legal address back to the states, so yeah, another massive trump propaganda victory.

meantime, this is great news. We need high tech manufacturing here for the jobs, revenue, and national security.

High-tech jobs are great, don’t want to discount that in the slightest, but what we really need are latest gen advanced semiconductor tech they manufacture in Taiwan. We have a ton of semiconductor plants here in the states. My old company built the four largest plants Intel has ever built (3 in Oregon and 1 in Arizona) and a number of those people left to go build a massive Global Foundries plant in New York. There are also a few plants my old company built for Micron in Utah and Idaho. There’s also dozens of other smaller semiconductor or high-tech companies manufacturing in the US including Qualcomm, On Semiconductor, TI, Analog Devices, etc.

Economically it’s great for the revenue side but national security-wise this won’t address the cutting edge chips we’re so desperate for coming from Taiwan.

Yeah hard pull back. But there’s this, with a great UF tie.
University of Florida to lead hub for $285 million semiconductor research institute
