You use a euphemism for illegal business practices. Hiring someone off the books is a nice way of saying felonious business practices.

Illegal immigrants cant vote so that's not a good plan by democrats I guess, however, they can work, so maybe the pubs are winning by not coming to the table on immigration policy that is humane.

When I suggested executing people for hiring illegal aliens I was paraphrasing that liberal, William F Buckley. He said he was in favor of legalizing all drugs with the caveat that anyone caught selling drugs to minors would instantly be executed. I apologize for paraphrasing him over 35 years later. We have escalated the amount we spend on "border security" by huge amounts in the last few decades. We have added thousands of new agents and billions of dollars worth of new infrastructure. The issue is that it is never enough. And if we upped that spending by 10x, it wouldn't be enough either. Or 100x.

I would not say conservatives. The America First & MAGA are the conservatives. They do not want an open border. The GOP, the billionaires, multinational corporations, Wall Street hedge fund managers, and institutional wealth systems want the cheap labor. They only care about money, which gives them power. These are Bush republicans who are not conservative but want you to think they are.
Well since I never claimed such a thing and have not read every post in the thread, it didn’t make sense sorry for not following you. The phrase open borders is a catch phrase just like war on women. Our borders are far more open compared to other industrialized nation in Europe or Australia. They doesn’t mean however they are legally “open”.
Also, anyone who does not want to pay $6 for a dozen eggs or $7/lb for tomatoes...which pretty much includes anyone who buys groceries.
