Shame and hate. That'll teach 'em. No education for them and back in the closet where they belong -- just because they're different. What makes you think these children aren't getting love, support and counseling already? You think one day a kid wakes up and says, "hey I think I was born in the wrong body" and the parents rush to schedule a surgery? I'm close with a family who is going through this with their child. They are an incredibly smart, loving, caring bunch who are helping their child navigate these difficult waters. Their kid is AWESOME. Kind, friendly, caring... just the type of people we need more of in this world, but he certainly sees and feels all the hate and fear-mongering in certain corners of the media and national politics - and plainly feels the world is against him. The kid has done nothing wrong. It really sucks. Lastly, how do you not recognize the irony in this part of your statement "WE" shouldn't try to fix PERSONAL, complex issues with surgery." You're right on that, it is complex, and it's PERSONAL, between parents and their child. You, the gov't, nor anyone else has any business interfering in a personal, family matter.
There’s a law in Kentucky against self-mutilation? Interesting but I don’t see how that affects a youth wanting to transition since they don’t perform surgery on themselves. However there’s a good chance those middle school girls who pierced their own ears could be doing jail time.
Do you think this is analogous to lopping off little pee-pees so little boys can become little girls ?
With the extremely rare situation of individuals with an intersex condition and ambiguous genitalia surgery is never performed on the pee-pees of a little boys to make them little girls and you either know that and are just trolling or are so far in the bubble that you are completely divorced from reality. This person did have the surgery at age 16 (not in the United States by the way) several years ago and from what I could gather she is well adjusted. When did Kim Petras undergo gender confirmation surgery? Singer becomes first transgender woman to win a Grammy
I’m pretty sure Jazz Jennings had sex organs lopped before she was allowed to drink. Also … Conclusion: The demand for GAS has increased exponentially since 2014. While postoperative complication rates are acceptable, Black race was shown to be an independent predictor of postoperative morbidity in patients undergoing top surgery, a finding that calls for further investigation of racial disparities among transgender patients. https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/10.1...der men, top surgeries, were similar (Table 2).
The government is the one that would make exposing genitalia illegal, not a private sports governing body. (It already has of course )
According to people who recognize the distinction between clowns and the advocacy for child genital mutilation.
It may be problematic in states where Trump won by 20 pts, where it doesn’t make any difference anyway. Like everything else, Republicans will take it too far and comments like eradicating transgenders probably won’t play well with centrists elsewhere, like me.
Kentucky has one of the nation's highest child poverty rates. This leads to food and housing insecurity, behavioral problems and low academic achievement. But lets focus on transgenders
I usually look to subtle distinctions like height, jaw, adam’s apple, five o’clock shadow, voice, etc. Just little things.
What random thoughts ? On this thread I’m focused on advocacy for social contagion manifesting in underage genital mutilation.
Jazz Jennings had the surgery shortly before her 18th birthday. She began puberty blockers around the age of 11 and began hormones around the age of 16.
I just posted guidelines for child surgery. Freaks Well, they can’t lop toddlers. Yet. Although I some there are fiends who would if they could. It’s pretty much how gender theory got started … Toddlers can’t get gender-affirming surgeries, despite claims
