There have been several well known cases of false accusations of rape. They absolutely ruin the guy’s life. Women who make false accusations of such a nature need to face the same penalty the man would face if found guilty.
Lying to the police is illegal and punishable, and the accuser and media outlets could be sued in civil court too. I believe Trevor Bauer did.
And the company that threw him under the bus and fired him before the facts were available should pay for damaging him. Corporations shouldn't be allowed to hide from responsible behavior behind the almighty dollar. Wokeness and cancel culture have cowed them. They need to be forced to nut up and stand behind their employees if they aren't decent enough to do it themselves.
Fire if you want to, but there need to be civil consequences for the employer when the employee didn't deserve it. Their reputation is damaged, and that has value.
I dont think you understand how at-will employment works, you can fire people who dont deserve to be fired. In fact, that probably covers most people who have been let go from their jobs.
