I wish there was a poll or something we could see about Australian’s view on alliance with the US… I am not at all worried who is President. Aussies are good people and like a strong USA. Attitudes to the United States - Lowy Institute Poll
They export massive amounts of LNG to China. They are commonwealth, and that makes them hold onto the US.
I probably would (vote for Romney). Even Biden and Haley might be a hard choice. I would not support DeSantis or Pence. My biggest impediment to voting for a *reasonable* republican is the abortion issue. They are pretty much all anti abortion. The difficulty for me is that a Republican could go into the election seeming reasonable, but to appeal to Republican voters they have to make an ass of themselves. To a limited degree even Romney did. In MA he signed on to Romneycare, but as a presidential candidate he was for “repeal and replace”. I liked Obama better, but I ultimately think Romney would have made a pretty good president.
I would consider him strongly. I worry that he is a leader in what I think is a cult but he seems like he might be a sane competent leader.
LOL, looks like trump's definitely going away...'Trump is likely going to be indicted three more times this year — Fulton County plus two criminal indictments from Jack Smith and DOJ. This means President Trump will be facing four criminal trials in 2024, and if Julie is correct, he could possibly be sitting in prison for the next 12 months awaiting trial'.
Georgia investigation said to be crumbling … Attorneys: Major Misconduct In Georgia D.A.'s Get-Trump Crusade Note: I want Trump to go away. But is jailing former presidents a good idea ?
Zero chance the GOP trots out a guy like Romney who lost his last presidential election right? oh wait
Since no one else will point it out, I guess I will. That Aussie comedian is full of crap when he says that raising the debt ceiling is about spending more money. Raising the debt ceiling is about paying our bills for money that's already been spent. That's why, as Biden says, it's non-negotiable. Just like Donald Trump said when he was president. Trump is still in charge of the Republican Party. So why doesn't he tell them to get off their sorry butts and raise the debt ceiling, no strings attached? What a mystery man!
Speaking only for myself, yes I would vote for Mitt Romney were he the Republican nominee and I usually vote for Democrats. That being said, the possibility of Romney or using another example of a Republican who would receive my vote John Kasich ending up as the Republican nominee it's a contingency that will virtually never happen. Borrowing a line from a 20-year car commercial, the Republican Party of Trump and DeSantis is not your father's Republican Party.
Adding that one political party supports a policy under which the state inserts itself into personal medical decisions and it's not the Democratic Party. Similarly, there is a potential presidential candidate who also happens to be the governor of one the largest states in the country who is attacking a private corporation because it hurt his fragile feelings and that guy is not a Democratic.
