And what's wrong with bears? Just like the far right extremists to post opinion as fact without reputable citation.
Honestly, I believe it may have been taking a toll on her, bit I dont remember if we ever had a detailed conversation about why.
That would not be a great way to conduct conversation. And that is not what video says. You would have to watch it to understand the argument.
If that is your issue with me...then your issue is with Christ. Christ regularly appealed to and quoted the scriptures, and he had a singular interpretation of the scriptures that dictated all matters relating to how we live our lives.
I don’t believe I Christ, but I think many of the things he purported to have said have great merit. Ironically the content and tone of most of your posts really do not reflect Christ’s teachings. Regardless, I don’t think the US should be a Sharia nation and your interpretation of what God “says” is completely irrelevant to me.
My exchanges with you have been just fine and respectful for the record. To the extent you believe people don't respond to you or are avoiding your arguments, I would just note for myself at least that when you offer religious arguments, I often leave them alone because we could probably turn nearly any topic on here into a religious debate. Might be fun for a handful of us, but I imagine most would think we were side-tracking the discussion.
If he/she/it did exist I’m sure he/she/it would have issue with your singular interpretation of what he/she/it thinks Alas he doesn’t so we’ll never know. But man oh man the conceit of a mortal man imagining he knows what a god thinks - breathtaking isn’t it? You think he’d be concerned about bigger things like “hey I thought I made Pluto a planet!”. Or “shit those two galaxies are about to collide! Or “where did I put my socks? Or “hey the answer tolife the universe and everything isn’t 42”
Yes, you have been one of the respectful ones in your engagement. I agree with your assessment there. And, yes, thinking about thread derailment is a valid concern. When two people approach something from two different worldviews...you can end up way downstream from where the original topic started. But that is just nature of coming at any topic from opposing worldviews. FWIW, I don't really take issue with the people who don't respond. Sometimes I have reasons for not responding. I could be busy. Or it could be a thread derailment issue. Or it could be I'm thinking about what the person said. Or I could not be feeling well and down on energy. Or it could be a combination of the above. So, I understand that.
This goes back to knowing Christ. How well do you really know Christ? I am not going to say that I have the wisdom of Christ. I am not going to say that I handle every situation like He would have. I am not going to say that I am sinless like He was. I sin, and I sin quite often. I do stupid stuff sometimes. So, I am not like Christ in many ways, but I am not who I used to be because of Christ. So, I am not going to say that I live up the standard of Christ in all of my behavior. I strive to, but I fall short in some ways. Nonetheless, if "always quoting the Bible" is your concept of how I am unchristlike, then it is clear you don't know Christ. And Christ would have better judgment in certain situations than I do. He would probably spend less time arguing with fools than I do, knowing there are better ways to steward one's time (this is something that came on my radar recently from studying a passage of scripture). And before you jump all over that..."The fool says in his heart there is no God." So, there are people who are fools, categorically in the Bible. And who that describes is not arbitrary. It is a valid description for certain people if you read Proverbs. As for what Jesus believed...He did tell the governor of the Roman province of Judea, Pontius Pilate, that Pilate's authority comes from above. He also told the disciples that "all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." So, he viewed all authority everywhere as belonging to Himself. Jesus is the King. He is Lord over all. If you don't think Jesus claimed all authority everywhere as His, then you don't know Christ. You have invented another Christ that has supplanted the biblical Christ.
God spoke in His word so that we can know what He thinks. It is not arrogance to listen to God's word and know what He has spoken of Himself.
