No worries. You can take my point and consider it or you can lash out in defense of who you are and seemingly who you will always be. Change ain’t easy. It’s optional. And yes, it makes a difference to me when moderators attempt to see both sides of a post/topic. Also, your bias is showing here. I am apart of many meaningful exchanges even if you fail to notice.
I think of you as one of the very best posters on too hot. Your posts go both ways regularly. You’d make a huge improvement as a moderator imo. Can’t blame you for not wanting that role though.
With our lives being so busy, this board allows me to have conversations with people that I would never learn from otherwise. A lot of very intelligent, well-reasoned people here that have taught me a lot over the years. I am grateful to have that opportunity and hope to offer something of value on occasion to show my appreciation. I wish that we would all temper the insults and generalizations as they lend nothing to the conversations.
I regularly visit a conservative site. This place is very polite. The rules are pretty strict. And mods are good. My opinion is if you have a good argument it survives well here.
I appreciate your sentiment, but we will have to agree to disagree. You typically are one of the few that not only has coherent points but are willing to listen to differing points even if you disagree with them. Not so much with a large portion of the "regulars".
Thanks for the words, but yeah mod life ain’t for me. it’s funny though, the same traits that hopefully make me a decent poster here get me in trouble on the football board. While none of us are perfect at it, I try to see things for how I think they actually are and not what I want them to be (even when I’m emotionally invested). Not having O&B glasses and pointing out issues with our staff or recruiting has me blocked by a few people there. One dude sent me a PM just to call me a douche lol.
Talk to her on the blue bird from time to time. She has considered coming back. Sometimes JJ reminds me of her (Thats sort of a compliment JJ in case you are wondering).
Its always been that way. We get reports to the mod board complaining if someone doesnt sunshine pump after a loss. Frankly TooHot in the offseason is a restful time compared to moderating a game thread of we arent doing well. I can tell you some stories. We banned people for being so mad about the weather canceling the season opener against Idaho that year. Some people lost their minds over that lol.
So true. People want to stay out of here due to the heated debate then go over to the game thread and spit vitriol all over a 19 year old kid playing a game for their entertainment.
I got a pm the other day from USMCNole. Tried to talk him into coming back but he's not interested at the moment. I thought he was really good.
IQ's mean little to me, I know better. When I was in the 6th grade they did some special testing on me because I was struggling in school. I'll never forget sitting in the principals office with the school board psychiatrist and him telling my father that I had an extremely high IQ and if I continued to struggle I just wasn't trying. It floored me because I tried harder than anybody in the school. I had dyslexia, dysgraphia and almost every learning disability there is. Back in 1960 they didn't have the understanding of learning disabilities and autism and such that they have today. There is no doubt today I would be a special needs student regardless of IQ.
