Does anybody know for sure if this is the current rule on pitcher ejections? I found this on a web search.
I just found this under Section 26 of the of NCAA baseball rules:
    e. Whenever a pitcher is ejected for disputing an umpire’s decision or for unsportsmanlike conduct or language directed at an opponent or umpire (including a post-participation ejection), the suspension will be for a total of four (4) games. This applies whether the ejection occurs while the player is serving as the current game pitcher or after having been removed from the game and his last listed position was that of a pitcher. If a player is removed as pitcher but remains in the game in another capacity such as a designated hitter or at a defensive position and is then ejected, the suspension penalty is one additional game.

I hope UF has the right to appeal the ejection/suspension or I hope this is somehow not the correct rule. That would be ludicrous if Neely can't pitch at all at South Carolina!

And now the stat gem that I held onto, not to break the string Cags had going and is still going. I found this stat nugget yesterday and waited to see if it would hold true again today and it did. If you go back to every day that Jac started on the mound this season you see a pattern developed. Now I haven't crossed referenced it for any double header rain out days if that changed it but just looking down this stat line it became very clear of Jac's pattern. Every other time he starts on the mound he either goes hitless or the next week has a multiple hit day including a homerun. Only one other time does this chain repeat and that was the Ole Miss Auburn weekends when he had multiple hit starts back to back. So that's why I posted on the game thread I expect Jac to have a good day at the plate including a homerun. See for yourself.
Jac Caglianone - Baseball - Florida Gators

You'll have to scroll down beneath the photos and click on Stats and the individual game stats come up down the page. Let's hope he breaks it next weekend in South Carolina.

Time to talk about the batting order and some changes Sully should consider. Here are the current SEC numbers that give a better representation of our starters over the last 5 weeks.

    Player ------------------ AVG - OB%
    Rivera, Josh----------- .407 - .471
    Caglianone, Jac------- .333 - .380
    Langford, Wyatt------ .286 - .508
    Heyman, Luke--------- .281 - .395
    Halter, Colby---------- .273 - .349
    Robertson, Michael--- .268 - .369
    Kurland, Cade--------- .258 - .333
    Prevesk, Matt--------- .240 - .259
    Riopelle, BT----------- .234 - .455
    Shelnut, Tyler--------- .200 - .333
    Schiekofer, Richie---- .111 - .200
    Evans, Ty-------------- .093 - .170

    1. Riopelle has become a hole in the 4th spot. He has the second lowest SEC hitting average among starters. He can still be a team leader lower in order.
    2. Heyman deserves more time at 1B. If we are to maximize our potential and have the best catcher behind the plate on the weekend, put Heyman on 1B.
    3. Evans is hard to replace defensively and has a knack for big hits but in SEC play he ain't cutting it at the plate. Trouble is Prevesk or Schiekofer ain't producing that much better to replace him. If we had another Wyatt to move to the outfield then it might be different.
    4. Rivera gets on almost as much as Langford but hits his way on more often. Plus he is our best base stealer on the team. Plus Riopelle isn't doing much to protect his bat behind him. Hhhmmm
    5. Robertson is one of our best hitters with runners in scoring position but is not bunting much or stealing bases

So here is a new lineup that I hope we try in the second half of the SEC.

SS - Rivera (R)- our most productive player that hits his way on base and a threat to steal
LF - Langford (R)- still the highest OB% but still overcoming injury with a lower average than usual
    1B/DH - Caglianone (L)- I prefer 3 run homeruns instead of 2 run homeruns
1B/DH - Heyman (R)- still have to remember he is a freshman but deserves the spot over Riopelle
3B - Halter (L)- second best LHH on team and average is the same overall or in the SEC
2B - Kurland (R)- average is still slipping but always a threat with power no matter facing a LHP or RHP
C -Riopelle (L)- must move him out of the 4th spot and see if 7th works better but catcher duties remain a priority
RF - Evans/Prevesk (R/L) - depends on the side to side matchups unless we find a better sub
CF - Robertson (L)- becoming one of the more dependable hitters on the team when runners on base

Heyman’s footwork around first base is impressive. I would work him there giving him one game a week (mid) behind the plate-keep Jac in the DH slot and continue to work on his pitching.

It has been a great year so far, but the teams we have played so far are:

    6-9, 3-12, 5-10, 5-10, 4-11 in the SEC. A combined 23-52.

Hopefully we can keep up the winning % against the better teams in the 2nd halg.

eehhhh, hows that? we put up 24 Runs against UGA who has 2 top 100 pitchers in D1 baseball and we put up 17 runs against Tenn who has 3 of the top 30 pitchers in all D1 ( 2 are top 10)
LSU (the number one team) only put up 18 against them. Arkansas only 18 and btw both teams got to play them at Home too.

If any change Rivera to lead off, dropping BT down may not hurt either

last 7 games(since line up change) times on base Robertson-8, Kade-9, Rivera-13, Langford 15, so not sure how you justify that change

    Pitcher of the Week

    [IMG] Hurston Waldrep, Florida

Waldrep fired seven innings of one-run ball to help even the series against Georgia on Saturday. He allowed one run on three hits and three walks and struck out eight batters - his sixth time striking out eight or more this year. Waldrep held the Bulldogs to a .143 batting average.

If I understand this “procedure” correctly, it’s the SEC that rules on this appeal matter—the only way for the NCAA to be involved (even though it’s their rules) is if it has reached playoffs.

Just because I think it is worth a mention, Matt LaPorta *only* hit 20 HR in 2007. He had 20 HR in 169 AB. That's an AB/HR ratio of 8.45. For context:

    Wilk ('98): 23 HR, 222 AB, 9.65
    Jud ('22): 24 HR, 234 AB, 9.75
    Langford ('22): 26 HR, 256 AB, 9.85
    LaPorta ('05): 26 HR, 265 AB, 10.19
    Wilk ('97): 23 HR, 236 AB, 10.26
    Shealy ('02): 23 HR, 261 AB, 11.35

He was also hit by pitch 19 times while striking out only 16 times (55 walks).

    Go GATORS!

Thanks - will be interesting to follow these as the season goes along. BUT BUT You didn't have to throw BT under the bus lol.
    (1) Kind of surprised to see Deacon Liput on that list.
    (2) Halter has cut down on his strikeouts by a huge number. He has put the ball in play consistently all season.
