Men....abysmal. No reason to even discuss....stumble into postseason scuffling badly Women in a tight battle Great doubles Briggs and Dudney lose, Gailis and Emily win Spee and Dahlstrom in3rd sets, 3-2 uf
Props to the ladies, important win as Dahlstrom takes a 3rd set TB and Spee wins 6-4 in 3rd AU was direct comp for a regional host so doubly important
The final men's tennis ledger of 5-7 is disappointing and unacceptable. There were alot of barriers this team had to climb this season, but early season SEC losses to Mississippi State on the road and Alabama at home, as well as a late loss at Texas A&M sealed their fate. The only hope left is a run in the SEC tournament or during post season play in the NCAA national team championships. SEC tournament is at Auburn this year, and for the first time in a long time the Gators will have to travel to play the first two rounds of the NCAA round of 64 and hopefully 32.
Florida finishes SEC play as the 8 seed and will take on Auburn, the 9th seed on Thursday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn.
While they will likely be a 2 seed, they "should" be a tough matchup for whateever 1 seed gets UF....just depends on which UF shows up.
Thanks, I misread that. Not the level we’re accustomed to in any case. Hopefully we can remedy that soon.
For the women that is kind of our level for several years now Women have one elite recruit coming in, lose #2 player in Briggs. Need one more impact player to be a top 8 type team Men will be young and I still don't see a true #1, but they should be pretty talented IF this year's freshmen improve and the 2 signees are as expected. Would certainly like to see at least one more addition...portal or signee
Yeah...she would have that option. Haven't really heard anything on that Edit....Emma was the only senior honored on senior day so Carly must be returning
