Very interesting...McElwain offered him a UF scholarship when he was a rising freshman. 3 years of eligibility remaining. Grad transfer. Former elite 11 QB. Former top 100 recruit. 247sports scouting profile:

Tall with prototypical size. Has actually trimmed down some from his sophomore season. A polished pocket passer with sound mechanics. Well coached in terms of technique and has a consistent delivery. Has the ability to drive the ball downfield and shows good touch and ball location. Has posted good passing numbers against top competition in Georgia. Able to distribute to all levels of the field. Looks to be best suited in an offense with a run game that allows him to target big wide receivers downfield off of play action. Doesn't provide a run threat and needs to keep improving his mobility and feet in order to be able to evade the rush. Projects as a likely Power 5 starter with an all-league ceiling should he continue to progress. Should be a third-day NFL draft selection.

    Harrison Bailey, UNLV, Quarterback (247sports.com)

2020 stats vs. SEC competition in Pruitt's last year:
    48/68, 70.6%, 578 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT QBR 155.5

Redshirted his first year under Heupel. Transferred to UNLV.
Hasn't done much the past 2 years, but at one point in time he was a legit prospect. Rumor is Georgia Tech.

    Again?

He was a good QB in high school. He was teammates with Torrence. They won state 7A.

Davis was part of that great Wekiva defense that had about 7 D1 starters sign in the same class....R Green at FSU, Tyler Davis at Clemson, Norrell Pollard at Va Tech

How many times did Davis get recruited over at Georgia? I never understood the mutual interest when he was recruited.

So, did the SEC change the transfer rule with regard to players transferring from one SEC team to another SEC team?

I know we had at least 3 players transfer to another SEC team. Are they eligible to play this coming season?

They had to be in the portal during the first window to play for another SEC team this year, if they enter in the spring one they aren't eligible at another SEC school for the fall, unless they're grad transfers

That's dumb... If you play for a team in the SEC the season before then the next season you should have to sit.

These SEC clowns are trying to complicate things just like the NCAA's 25 per year counter rule was.

This was posted in one of the NBN threads by @tampajack1 and @rserina

    https://www.si.com/college/alabama/bamacentral/sec-eliminates-intra-conference-transfer-rule

However, the rule change does come with a caveat. In order for an athlete to be eligible immediately at their school of choice, they must declare their intent to transfer by Feb. 1 for fall sports, May 1 for winter sports and July 1 for spring sports. The athlete does not need to choose his or her destination but must at least be in the transfer portal by those dates.

They should get until after the spring game to decide, IMHO. Thank you for taking the time to point that out. I appreciate it.

That seems fine but maybe it keeps a little stability

Unless they go to a team out of conference. And in that case... there is still no stability.

Yea, it’ll make the talent leave the conference. I guess that’s better than guys taking their playbooks to the next team idk

However, if a kid on one SEC team is going to leave his team he can still "spill the beans" on his former team's playbook well before he can actually play for his NEW SEC team.

IOW, all this does is punish the player, and it protects coaches that may have promised (and lied) more than they actually could deliver to these potential transfer players. This "rule" has Saban/Bama and UGA written all over it.

You know they lie to these kids about playing time as true freshman, sometimes, just to get them to sign with their team. And if they don't deliver then they also know that these victims/players are not going to play right away on any other SEC team. It has nothing to do with the play book, IMHO. If they say that's the reason for this transfer, sit one year rule, then they are being disingenuous.

In the end this non SEC to SEC transfer rule protects the team that pay to play in advance, and those players that are on the "payroll" as emergency backups. Players that feel they could start on another team.

Now this rule is not completely bad, because some coaches spend so much time and effort to recruit these young men, so the rule for and transfer should be if you sign out of high school then you should be compelled to play for or stay on that one team through that first freshman year.

However, it's equally unfair when player straight out of high school signs with your team and then before the season even starts wants to transfer out. That should be an NCAA rule change. Not just an SEC rule.

Other than my proposal about freshman signing and staying one full year, which I think is unfair to the universities and colleges... I still think the no SEC to SEC and immediate play (transfer rule) is flawed.

Was just thinking, is this even legal? If the NCAA can’t enforce it, why can the SEC limit a student's right to transfer and participate at another member school? I’m so confused with all these gray areas.
