Gripping reporting and commentary about the huuuuge transgender sports topic. Without looking it up: How many transgender sports threads have we had?
This minor issue creates such an upside-down paradigm for political arguments about government intervention. I'm not particularly well-versed in how much oversight the state or local governments exercise for school-aged athletics, but I decided to look it up. The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) is designated by the Florida Legislature as the governing organization. Looking at it's website, it says this about its Board of Directors: That seems a far cry from "the government," and indicates that the FHSAA operates with relative independence and autonomy, for now. I say "for now" because of course I found articles about new legislature that would eliminate the independent elected members and let Big Gov Ron appoint the entire board himself, because DeSantis and his sycophants haven't found an identity politic issue that they didn't think should be solved by more authority for the Governor.
Gender reassigned athletes are also very rare, but some like O_&_B would have us to believe they’re lurking under everyone’s bed. As far as the ruling goes if those are the rules then those are the rules.
Lol, this came as a text alert from the BBC. CNN, abc etc have this on their home pages, it’s not some a Breitbart fantasy story. World Athletics is one of the largest sports organizations on the planet, it’s an important ruling that will set precedent among many sports around the world. but yeah, lump it in with DeSantis and the other stuff if you want.
Its all part of the same moral panic, the Brits are having a bigger one over this over on TERF island
This is what happens when Trans athletes take over a sport. I'm fine having a Trans division, just don't think women should have to compete against Trans women. Heartbreaking words of female cyclist who quit sport after constant beatings by trans competitors | Daily Mail Online
Lemme see if I got this straight. Person born as a man identifies as a woman. Person undergoes gender conversion from man to woman. Then person wants to compete in a women’s competition and has to be told to back off the testosterone?? Was this exogenous testosterone or naturally occurring? Either way, wouldn’t testosterone suppression come with the whole identifying as a woman thing? But person refused to take a testosterone inhibitor? Yeah, we’re not being defrauded at all here. Seems perfectly legit.
LOL. Yeah, way to support women. Lots of 46 year old women crushing young women at cycling... Some people just argue to argue. Can't believe someone would back a trans person beating the crap out of women in athletics.
Orwell’s response to you: "We are all drowning in filth. When I talk to anyone or read the writings of anyone who has any axe to grind, I feel that intellectual honesty and balanced judgement have simply disappeared from the face of the earth. … Everyone is dishonest, and everyone is utterly heartless towards people who are outside the immediate range of his own interests. What is most striking of all is the way sympathy can be turned on and off like a tap according to political expediency." -- George Orwell (1942)
Intellectual honesty? From someone who thinks it's perfectly fine for biological males to beat the crap out of women in athletics? Yeah, really balanced judgement there. Oh the irony of what you posted. Maybe read it yourself.
Good quote, but it isn’t applicable here. This isn’t politics or self-interest. This is biology. You have been likely made to feel like this should be political, but it’s not.
I was referring to the poster attempting feign sympathy, but not because he has sympathy for women’s issues, but because he has a deep rooted hate for anyone different.
Question: If Jazz Jennings we’re competing in a track meet; How long before and how long after the competition for her to take out and put in her dilator?
