Why has the mens team fallen so quickly, we were just a super power. I know we lost Ben but where is the failure from the coaching staff. I have heard opinions from my friends who are some area pros who have said Shelton went soft on recruiting for a few years enjoying the sweet life of having his son and daughter on campus. Can he get his edge back? Do we have anything going on that tells us that he can turn this around quickly?
APK and HOC have better insight than me but Florida had Ben, Sam, Duarte, Andy, Josh - top players are looking for a place to play not a place to sit - that was a tough lineup to break into. This was going to be a transition year anyway but then Ben and another projected starter leave and this is what you end up with. I still get the impression from reading the posts of the more knowledgeable posters here that the talent level of the team is better than the results we have seen thus far.
Agree.....coach Hoc has specifically mentioned the lineup the last 2 years being so incredibly talented and deep somewhat hurt landing recruits that wanted to play immediately. I fhtis team had Shelton as expected they are a contender...it makes that much difference having an elite #1 and moving everyone down the ladder. Nefve becomes an unbelievable #2, Grant is maybe dominant as a 3, etc etc. Shelbayh probably plays somewhere i the 3/4 range as well. All that said, you play with what you have.....and you don't lose to Bama at home. And the Miss St loss was poor as well. Got to be better than that
