That just proves America rewards people for doing things the right way after they do crimes, we believe in second chances (if you are a rich white guy)
hopefully 2022 was a indication that our country has had enough of maga divisiveness and conspiracies. Many maga candidates lost because of it.
I saw some sadly misguided (often elderly MAGA type) “conservatives” use the “everybody deserves a second chance” justification as far back as 2016. I wonder what those same people would use as an excuse in 2024? For those people, it was such bizarre logic in the first place. Leaping from giving a guy “a second chance” to cultishly supporting for POTUS.
https://thehill.com/homenews/media/...fox-news-rino-network-over-desantis-coverage/ Murdoch’s news outlets extend their criticism of Trump. Murdoch v Trump: Rupert’s papers kick Donald, but Fox won’t play ball Rupert Murdoch Knees Trump in the Balls While He’s Doubled Over Coughing Up Blood Just a quick google search, but there’s scores of articles on this. Murdoch basically thinks Trump has jumped the shark.
I think the great Herschel Walker needs to put his name in the pot. Everyone deserves a second chance
While true, the prevailing thought is that these Republicans, while enough to doom Trump in the general election, are not a large enough part of the party voters to sway primary outcomes. Personally, I think DeSantis would have had good odds against Trump if the candidate field was limited, but Trump will drown out everyone else in a crowded field and win a lot of early primaries with a plurality but not majority.
Desantis does not need to run in 2024. I suspect he won't. He's pretty shrewd...even if he can beat Trump, he knows he'll take a beating doing it. I acknowledge my terrible track record in pol predictions over the last 6 years. p.s. seems like an abuse of power & misuse of taxpayers funds to have the police be your personal safe space force, but that's how Chy-na Ron rolls.
I've seriously considered this possibility, but I think DeSantis has too much support and momentum to wait.
The only reason Trump could possibly lose the nomination is that the voting is rigged and it is stolen from him. At that point he has no choice but to run as an independent.
How many DeSantis boat parades have you seen? As we all learned that's the only true measure of a candidate's popularity.
I have a feeling Haley isn’t running for President, but wants to be Trump’s VP running mate. I had that feeling about Harris as well.
