So a lot of assistant coaches leaving. Should I be concerned it’s a BN issue or do we just have so many that when a few leave it seems more significant than it is? Let’s hope BN has better hires going forward.
Having 3 coaching spots turnover at the end of the season is not unusual. Regardless of the reason. This happens all the time. Being overly concerned about it, is just wasted energy IMO.
I saw where uga and bama lost assistants as well...part of that job landscape...coaches move around, just like players going into the portal..
I would be more concerned if they were leaving for other colleges. No issue with coaches leaving for NFL.
When tge pros come calling, people listen. It’s a better job with less work and they are professionals instead of kids.
This board would be hilarious if it wasn't so annoying. This year with Toney, and going back even before Grantham, people bitched and complained that the head coach was putting more priority on friendships than their jobs. Mullen protecting Grantham because he essentially never fired him, now Napier protecting Toney because he didn't fire Toney in the middle of the season. . . . . . . . So now that the season is over, Toney and a couple other lower-performing coaches are leaving the program, and here comes all the whining about losing coaches - from the same freaking people who bitched because those coaches weren't fired earlier! Some of y'all must be hell to live around
Not sure it's less work, but 100% of the focus is on the work of developing players, schemes, game plans, etc. Not 70% of your time selling to 18yo entitled divas.
Everything from day 1 has been about how Napier excels at relationships and engenders loyalty. Many examples have been shown. Which suggests he is making hard decisions. Promoting Raymond is a boss move.
