They won’t make it even, big boys will get at least two big boys. They need the TV games.

I could see the SEC dropping the Championship game in the long run, especially if they see it hurts them with the 12-team Playoff Set up.

If we didn't have a championship game, we'd almost certainly get the top 4 Conference Championship bid along with most of the 6 at-large bids remaining.

    Winner, winner chicken dinner!

This (TV money) is also why a nine game schedule over 8 and no divisions/pods. There is more flexiility to preserve the big TV/traditional rival games without divisions or pods.

The evenness of difficulty isn’t bad yet Vandy got the toughest schedule which also means three good teams all got Vandy. Vandy should just drop fottball. The dumbest thing is we get Ole Miss and Bama doesn’t have Tennessee. You need the preserve the rivalries at all costs.

On the one hand, articles like this show that coming up with the SEC schedule isn't a trivial exercise. There's no single answer that's going to please everybody.

On the other hand, it feels like this guy went out of his way to create some odd pairings, like Florida-Ole Miss. The big red flag for me was him saying Texas/aTm was a matchup that had to be preserved. Maybe they've changed their mind, but aTm didn't want to play Texas every year when it came out that Texas and Oklahoma were joining the SEC.

Agree, this most recent expansion will only make it worse.

Birmingham will make dang sure that Bama gets the easiest schedule of all. They'll play at Austin or Noman twice a century.

Meanwhile, our tenth highest most difficult schedule will probably include biannual road trips to both of those places.

What ATM wants is irrelevant, they are little brother and have been absolutely dominated all time vs Texas, they need to sit down and shut up.
