Not really logistically possible to physically move. Part of his confidence.

But they can divert a lot of related economic activity elsewhere without hurting themselves, and that will hurt Florida. He doesn't care

    LOL…

Disney is not going anywhere. And going forward they will be more respectful to the state they have a home in. Next time they will think before they peddle a false narrative about a state law that was enacted.

It is comical how some think Disney is being so mistreated lol. They will be fine playing by similar rules as everyone else. I think it is funny that people are all upset about nothing.

I love this story in the news. DeSantis continues to win!

Do you think moderate centrists in the rest of America both left and right leaning(which constitutes the largest voting bloc), want culture wars raging all across America?

And The Atlantic nailed it again today on Desantis. This act isn't going to play well on a national stage.

Moderate centrists don't want a massive corporation that is suppose to appeal to kids pushing a false narrative about a law that Florida put in place that implies that massive corporation is good with teaching K-3rd graders things they find appalling for young children to hear about. Hence...DeSantis continues to win the more you keep this in the news.

Want to know why Florida just had an epic turn Red this November? Disney is part to thank.

Yes FL. What happened to the red wave outside of FL? It never happened. Why? You think this translates to people in Wisconsin? PA? Ohio? MI? AZ?

Both my parents retired from Disney. My dad got a whopping $200/month for a pension. I've seen enough Disney, but I also know how valuable they are to central Fl.

    LOL!!!!

Gerrymandered districts are what we had with Corrine Brown.

But more comical…districts have nothing to do with the voting of governor. LOL!!!! Gerrymandered districts is why DeSantis just won in epic fashion. LOL!

LOL wasn’t talking about Governor’s race LOL. Since he was running as an incumbent FL didn’t suddenly flip red in that race LOL.
I was referring to the Congressional districts that he gerrymandered - that even other Republicans thought too partisan and that the courts said were illegal but were too late to redraw. LOL.

    edit: !!!!!!! !!!!!!! !!!!!!

The map today looks far less gerrymandered than the map of the past.

Good thing we don’t go by the Republican eyeball test and can actually measure the effects. When even your own party members think you’ve gone overboard, you’ve gone overboard.
How DeSantis Remade Florida's Congressional Districts — ProPublica

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was incensed. Late last year, the state’s Republican legislature had drawn congressional maps that largely kept districts intact, leaving the GOP with only a modest electoral advantage.

DeSantis threw out the legislature’s work and redrew Florida’s congressional districts, making them far more favorable to Republicans. The plan was so aggressive that the Republican-controlled legislature balked and fought DeSantis for months. The governor overruled lawmakers and pushed his map through.

Florida’s constitution was amended in 2010 to prohibit partisan-driven redistricting, a landmark effort in the growing movement to end gerrymandering as an inescapable feature of American politics.

A meeting invite obtained by ProPublica shows that on Jan. 5, top DeSantis aides had a “Florida Redistricting Kick-off Call” with out-of-state operatives. Those outsiders had also been working with states across the country to help the Republican Party create a favorable election map. In the days after the call, the key GOP law firm working for DeSantis logged dozens of hours on the effort, invoices show. The firm has since billed the state more than $450,000 for its work on redistricting.

well it is clear that they are not going to silently follow the existing pattern. Have to wonder if/when Disney or bondholder suits get filed. already starting to use district funds to hire cronies and revise Disney policies on covid

DeSantis' new Disney World board holds first meeting, hints at big changes including eliminating cities (msn.com)

Walt Disney World’s new governing board held its first meeting on Wednesday, with members hinting at potentially political actions in the future.
    .....................
There was also talk of potentially prohibiting COVID-19 restrictions at Disney World. The board recommended eliminating the two cities that were created after the Florida Legislature approved Disney World's self-governance in 1967.

The board also approved hiring the same law firm that advised the governor’s office in making changes to the governing district to help interpret the new legislation.

The real winners in this circus will be the attorneys and in the case of those representing Gov. Ron's new board the taxpayers of Florida will probably end up paying their rather substantial fees.

And they might think twice about throwing their full weight (in movies) behind child grooming in the state of Florida.
