It would be a big deal if he can provide some depth at OLB/Edge. He had a reputation of being a workout warrior but I haven't heard much about him since he signed. It's refreshing to see a player gush about his experience.
All I remember of him during the season was seeing him hit a Georgia player pretty hard on special teams.
Being from the District of Columbia maybe he thought he was staying home in Columbia. Did we ever offer this guy?
The offer list in the On3 announcement listed Michigan, Oregon, Maryland, and South Carolina — kind of an odd list
I don't know about that. I'm not sure Colorado alums have the money to outbid other bigger schools. It's big but not a huge school and it's really never had a huge football fanbase. Dion has recruited elite DBs well because he was an elite DB. What top notch DB wouldn't want to be coached by one of the best of all time? It's not unlike elite QBs wanting to come to UF to be coached by Spurrier in the 90s. I don't think players are following him to JSU and Colorado because of NIL money. Kids like his swagger. I actually think NIL money probably hurts a coach like Dion. Time will tell if Dion will become a great FBS coach. If he does, he won't be at Colorado for long. He'll be at a major FBS school or NFL.
Think he'll be able to procure NIL deals outside of the alumni base. Didn't he do that with BarStool Sports while at JSU?
