Not at all as I recall an attempt was made on Zelensky by a special forces team. There was no invasion of Kyiv. No the argument stems from a full on invasion of Kyiv and what Putin wanted with regards to NATO and the conflicts in western Ukraine. A show of force against Kyiv was the warning that yielded zero results. And the US could have stopped meddling in Ukraine and expanding NATO. What is absurd and I'll say it again Ukraine means absolutely nothing to the US. If it did this war would be well underway with American boots on the ground. Problem is the US government can't sell it to the public or get the youth to enlist and fight such a war.
Well that is just false. The Kyiv offensive of 2022 definitely occurred. It failed and they were forced to withdraw amidst substantial soldier losses and a lack of continued progress. It wasn't a "show of force." They took cities in Kyiv oblast. They then handed it back as they got bogged down and lost soldiers. Retreats are, surprisingly, not effective shows of force. Wow, can you point to the countries that the US forced to join NATO? Or did every new country request membership themselves?
All of those troops that were there were they destroyed? I think not. Putin took the softer approach with Kyiv rather than annihilating the town and everyone in it.
Trump blasts Biden over tanks for Ukraine and calls for end to ‘crazy war’ to repel Russian invasion I'm sure pootie pie appreciates the support....
I hope this turns a few Trump supporters when he shows his cards for what type of people and regimes he aligns with.
It won’t. If anything it probably peels off some conservative support of Ukraine, as it’s absolutely designed to do.
Well the omnicidal war sluts won the debate over sending tanks to Ukraine, so now it’s time to start arguing for sending F-16s. The West Is Incentivizing Russia To Hit Back
Exactly. The myth that Putin would send an army to the outskirts of Kiev to do a song and dance routine that was supposed to cause Kiev to surrender. Clearly the most imbecilic military action in modern history. There was no encirclement of Kiev. There was no siege of the city. Those are two tried and true methods that militaries throughout history have done to cause cities to surrender without a fight. Maybe Russia lost those pages in their war instructions tutorial book, Invasions for Dummies. I have to give Russia some credit for creativity--they are the first nation in history to try the song-and-dance routine to get a city to surrender. Maybe it will get a chapter in the followup tutorial, Invasions for Imbeciles.
Breaking news: there are now reports that a Turkish ship in the Black Sea has been hit by a Russian missile. Things may be about to heat up. Russian missile hits Turkish ship in Kherson on Tuesday (yahoo.com)
Do you think it will be done? I don't think so, at least not this year. But I thought that sending tanks is impossible, and I was wrong
Poland will send 60 Polish-made tanks to Ukraine., almost matching the total from the U.S., Germany and Britain, in addition to the 14 Leopards that it has already committed to the fight. Poland's tanks are modernized versions of the Russian T-72 tanks, so they will likely not be as effective as the Leopards and other donated tanks. President's Office: Poland to deliver 60 modernized tanks to Ukraine (yahoo.com)
An interesting article on the Abrams tank versus the T-72: Several Abrams tanks in Gulf War I had taken direct frontal strikes from T-72 tanks, and were barely scratched. This is the M1 Abrams, the powerful American main battle tank the US is sending to Ukraine (yahoo.com) This explains why the Russians are so terrified of the Abrams tanks. I wouldn't want to be a Russian tanker once the western tanks arrive on the battlefield.
